Late spring through early fall, roughly May to September, offers the warmest and driest weather for riverside picnicking, hiking, and paddling. July and August bring peak visitation on weekends, so midweek arrivals are calmer for finding day-use parking with an RV. Shoulder months like April and October are pleasantly cool and quieter, though rain is more likely. Winter visits are possible since the park stays open, but trails can be muddy and river flows run high.

The park offers several miles of trails along the Green River and through forested hillsides. Routes range from flat riverside walks to short climbs into the woods. Trailheads begin near the main parking loops, which accommodate larger vehicles.
The Green River is a popular destination for bank anglers pursuing seasonal salmon and steelhead runs. Multiple river access points are spread along the park's day-use road. A Washington State fishing license and current regulations apply.
Flaming Geyser serves as a take-out and put-in for sections of the Green River Gorge run upstream. Flows are best in spring and early summer. Paved parking near the river makes gear shuttling easier.
A full-length disc golf course winds through the park's open meadows and tree lines. The course is free to play with a Discover Pass for parking. RV-friendly lots are a short walk from the first tee.
A designated grass strip in the park's open field is used by local radio-control model aircraft clubs. Visitors can watch flying activity on weekends. Day-use parking is nearby with room for larger vehicles.
Large open lawns, picnic tables, and reservable shelters line the Green River throughout the park. The flat terrain is stroller and wheelchair friendly. Multiple pull-through style lots make it easy to park an RV for the day.
A short walk from the main road leads to the park's namesake gas seep, a small methane vent once lit as a flame. The seep is interpretive and historical rather than spectacular today. The trail is short and suitable for most visitors.
We had such a great weekend camping in the Memory Maker! Danielle has thought of everything when it comes to making life easy while you are “roughing it”. We felt cozy and comfortable sleeping as a family of 5. It was easy to pull behind our Tahoe as well. Great experience all around, we already have our next trip booked!

Danielle is a great host! The trailer was wonderfully laid out and perfect for a family of four. It was very clean and everything worked perfectly! Our family had a great time and would definitely rent from Danielle again!

Steve and Patty were great. Super accommodating, great communication, exceptionally nice and professional, and all around a pleasure to deal with. The RV was great, just as advertised. Overall, it was a great experience.

Flaming Geyser State Park, WA, United States
The park is about 15 miles southeast of Auburn, roughly 30 miles southeast of Seattle, and about 40 miles northeast of Tacoma, with typical drive times of 30 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. Access is via Green Valley Road from either Auburn or Black Diamond, with the final approach on Flaming Geyser Road, a narrow rural route with some tight curves that RV drivers should take slowly. There are no mountain passes or tunnels on the approach, but watch for low-hanging branches on side roads and seasonal flooding along the river valley after heavy rain. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, about 35 miles away.
