Late April through early June and September through October offer the most comfortable conditions for RV travel, with mild days, cool nights, and fewer thunderstorms than midsummer. July and August bring hot afternoons and monsoon storms that can trigger flash flooding in the canyon, though mornings remain pleasant for hiking and rock art viewing. Winter visits are possible because the museum stays open year-round, but overnight temperatures regularly drop below freezing and snow can limit trail access.
