French River features a 105-kilometre canoe route through interconnected lakes, gorges, and rapids ranging from leisurely to challenging whitewater. French River Provincial Park, ON, Canada
French River Provincial Park lies midway between Sudbury (approximately 80 km, 50 minutes) and Parry Sound (approximately 95 km, 1 hour). The park is roughly 335 km north of Toronto (3.5 hours) via Highway 69. The park is not accessible by RV directly; paddlers must launch from private marinas (Hartley Bay Marina, French River Supply Post) or from the park's Otter Bay access point. The nearest major airport is Sudbury Regional Airport, about 80 km away, making fly-and-rent arrangements feasible for paddlers.
