April through June and September through early November offer the most comfortable weather, with mild temperatures and lower humidity than midsummer. Summer brings peak crowds, heavy humidity, and frequent thunderstorms, though tram tours and the museum run year-round. Winter visits are quieter and the Arch stays open, but St. Louis can see ice storms and cold snaps that affect driving. Shoulder seasons are ideal for RV travelers seeking easier downtown parking and shorter entry lines.

The tram ride carries visitors 630 feet up inside the Gateway Arch to an observation deck overlooking St. Louis and the Mississippi River. Tickets are timed and frequently sell out on summer weekends, so booking ahead is recommended. nps.gov/jeff/planyourvisit/gateway-arch.htm
The Museum at the Gateway Arch is a free underground museum beneath the monument that tells the story of Thomas Jefferson, westward expansion, and the construction of the Arch. Interactive galleries make it a solid rainy-day option for families. nps.gov/jeff/
The Old Courthouse is a restored 19th-century federal building where the Dred Scott case was first argued. Visitors can explore restored courtrooms and permanent galleries on civil rights and St. Louis history. nps.gov/jeff/
A paved path along the Mississippi River connects the Arch grounds to the cobblestone levee and Grand Staircase. It is a flat, accessible stroll with photo angles of the Arch framed against the river.
Narrated sightseeing cruises depart from the Arch grounds aboard replica 19th-century riverboats. Cruises run seasonally and provide a different vantage point of the monument from the water. nps.gov/jeff/planyourvisit/index.htm
Paved loops through the 91-acre park grounds pass reflecting ponds, landscaped lawns, and more than 4,000 trees. The flat terrain is suitable for casual biking, jogging, and picnicking.
The park shows documentary films about the construction of the Gateway Arch and the westward expansion era. Screenings run throughout the day inside the visitor center at the base of the monument. nps.gov/jeff/

The van was easy to drive, the bed was comfortable and pick up and drop off was a breeze. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting an adventure on wheels!

Betty White was perfect for my adult daughter and I for the Indi 500. Betty drove nicely. I slept on the bed and we brought a foam pad and cushion so she could sleep in the large storage area under the bed. Everything worked

Gateway Arch National Park, MO, United States
The park sits along the Mississippi River in downtown St. Louis, directly accessible from Interstates 70, 55, 64, and 44. Kansas City is roughly 250 miles and about a 4-hour drive west on I-70, Chicago is about 300 miles northeast via I-55, and Memphis is around 285 miles south on I-55. RV drivers should avoid low-clearance downtown garages and instead use surface lots on the city's north or south riverfront; narrow one-way streets, streetcar tracks, and tight turns make a route plan essential. St. Louis Lambert International Airport, about 15 miles northwest, is the closest option for fly-and-rent travelers.
