Late May through September offers the warmest weather, open swim beach, and full access to paddle rentals and trails. July and August bring peak lake activity and busy weekends, so midweek visits are quieter. September and early October provide cooler temperatures, fall color in the hardwoods, and fewer bugs, making them strong shoulder-season choices for RV travelers.

Annie Battle Lake is a state-designated heritage fishery with special regulations and no gas motors, offering quality largemouth bass, northern pike, and panfish. Anglers can launch canoes, kayaks, and electric-motor boats from the park boat access. Rental boats are available seasonally near the beach.
A paved multi-use trail runs through the park and connects to the regional Central Lakes Trail corridor. The route is mostly flat and suitable for all abilities, passing prairie, forest, and lake overlooks. Trailhead parking near the park office accommodates larger vehicles.
The park's swim beach sits on Molly Stark Lake near the main day-use area. Amenities include a sandy shoreline, picnic area, vault toilets, and a nearby fishing pier. The parking lot can fit standard tow vehicles and smaller motorhomes.
Glendalough offers miles of hiking trails winding through oak woodlands, restored prairie, and along undeveloped lakeshores. Popular loops connect the campground with Annie Battle Lake and scenic overlooks. Terrain is gently rolling and family friendly.
The park is a well-known spot for spotting trumpeter swans, common loons, bald eagles, and white-tailed deer. Interpretive signage and observation platforms highlight prairie pothole habitat. Early morning along the lakeshores offers the best viewing.
Calm, undeveloped shorelines on Annie Battle and Molly Stark Lakes make Glendalough ideal for paddling. Canoes, kayaks, and rowboats are available for rent through the park concession during the summer season. A no-gas-motor rule keeps the waters quiet.
In winter the park grooms cross-country ski trails and permits snowshoeing on designated routes. Day-use parking remains plowed for visitors arriving with tow vehicles. The campground is closed in winter, so plan for day trips from RV parks in nearby towns.
