Summer is the peak season for swimming and tubing, but daytime highs often exceed 95 F and campsites book out far in advance. The park provides public access to a scenic four-mile stretch of the Guadalupe River popular for swimming, tubing, and wading. Day-use parking near the river access is sized for standard vehicles, so RVers typically stage at the main lot or their campsite and walk in.
Kayakers and canoeists can put in at the park and float the clear, cypress-lined river. Water levels vary seasonally, so check current flow rates before launching.
This easy trail follows the river through shaded bottomland forest and connects to overlooks above the water. It is a good introduction to the park's ecology and suitable for most hikers.
A moderate loop through juniper and oak uplands known for songbirds, including the colorful painted bunting in spring and summer. Trailhead parking accommodates trucks and tow vehicles.
The park's Bauer Unit offers several miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails across rolling Hill Country terrain. Access is via a separate entrance off Bauer Road north of the main park.
Adjacent Honey Creek State Natural Area opens only for ranger-led tours that highlight spring-fed creeks, ferns, and limestone geology. Tours typically depart from the Guadalupe River State Park headquarters area.
Anglers can fish the river within the park without a state fishing license, targeting bass, sunfish, and catfish. Bank fishing is accessible from several points along the developed river frontage.
The park protects habitat for the endangered golden-cheeked warbler along with deer, armadillos, and many songbirds. Early morning walks from the campground are productive during spring migration.
So easy that all was set up upon our arrival and ready for us! Great trailer and responses from owner was quick and informative.

We had a fantastic time camping with this camper. It was perfect for my family of 4 and really we could have had more. We will definitely be renting from Matt again. He was prompt with the setup and pick up and very easy to get ahold of. I highly recommend using them!

Kristen was a fantastic host. We arrived to everything set up and hooked up. The RV was clean and clean linens and towels were on the beds. The outdoor kitchen was perfect for breakfast and the outside fridge was used constantly. Communication was amazing. We had a flight cancelled and Kristen made it work so we didn't miss a thing.
