How to get to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park

The park is located at mile marker 102.5 on U.S. Highway 1 (the Overseas Highway) in Key Largo, Florida. From Miami it is about 60 miles and 1.5 to 2 hours south, and from Homestead it is roughly 30 miles. RV drivers should plan for slow two-lane sections, narrow bridges, and heavy seasonal traffic along the Overseas Highway, and should check clearance and weight on the Card Sound Road alternate route, which includes a toll bridge. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Miami International Airport (MIA), with Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL) a secondary option.
