Late June through August is the prime window, when the Murray River is warm enough for wading, the grounds are fully maintained, and provincial day-use facilities are in full operation. Early September offers warm afternoons, thinner crowds, and comfortable touring weather across eastern PEI. May and early June can be cool and buggy, while the park is generally closed or unmaintained outside the summer operating season.

Walking the grounds to spot fairytale character statues is the signature activity at Kings Castle Provincial Park. Figures are arranged along short, flat paths that are easy for families with young children.
The park fronts a calm, sandy stretch of the Murray River that is popular for wading and supervised swimming. Shallow water and a gentle slope make it well suited to small kids.
Shaded picnic tables sit on grassy lawns near the river, offering a quiet lunch stop on a Points East Coastal Drive tour. Washrooms and a playground are located nearby.
On-site playground equipment and open lawns provide space for children to run and play between beach visits. The area is fenced on the road side for added safety.
The nearby village of Murray River is a short drive from the park and offers seal-watching boat tours, local shops, and seafood dining. It pairs well with a morning at Kings Castle.
Panmure Island Provincial Park lies a short drive north and features a long white-sand beach, a historic lighthouse, and additional day-use areas. It is a natural add-on for RV travelers touring eastern PEI.
First time renting a trailer and had a great first experience. The owners provided so much more than what is listed in their listing. From small kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, dish ware, down to dvds for the dvd player. I could not have rented from better hosts. You will not be disappointed.

Just got home from an amazing trip that couldn’t have been better. The trailer eas dropped off and picked up at the exact times that they said it would. It was super clean and fully equipped with whatever you would need. Definitely recommending to other and will 100% book again.

Cassie and Richard were amazing to deal with and the communication/drop off/pick up were all great. Camper was very well equipped, extremely clean and had very comfortable beds.

Cassie was a phenomenal host! The RV was just what we needed for our trip and our family had a delightful time. It was spotless and had so many helpful touches like pans, dishes, etc.

Kings Castle Provincial Park, PE, Canada
The park lies off Route 348 near Gladstone in southeastern PEI, roughly a 45 to 60 minute drive from Charlottetown and about 30 minutes from Wood Islands and the Northumberland ferry terminal. From the Confederation Bridge, plan on approximately two hours of driving east across the island. Routes to the park are paved rural secondary roads with a few narrow bridges and tight turns, so larger RVs should drive slowly and watch for soft shoulders. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Charlottetown Airport (YYG).
