Boating is the signature activity at Kring Point, with two on-site launches providing direct access to the St. Lawrence shipping channel and Goose Bay. RVers can tow small craft to the launches, or walk from riverside campsites to photograph passing freighters and island estates.
Kring Point is a prime Thousand Islands fishing base for smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and muskellunge. Anglers fish from shore, from the peninsula points, and from boats launched at the park, with a valid New York State fishing license required.
A designated swimming area on the St. Lawrence River offers a sandy entry and roped-off area for families. The beach is within a short walk of most campground loops and includes nearby picnic tables and restrooms.
Calm coves around the peninsula and into Goose Bay make Kring Point a favorite put-in for kayakers and canoeists. Paddlers can explore nearby islands and quiet marshes where herons and osprey are commonly seen.
Short walking paths and open picnic areas loop through the park's woods and shoreline. Visitors regularly spot bald eagles, ospreys, loons, and great blue herons along the water's edge.
Alexandria Bay is about a 20 minute drive from the park and is the main hub for Thousand Islands boat tours, including trips to Boldt Castle on Heart Island. Leave the RV at the campsite and drive a tow vehicle for easy in-town parking.
The Antique Boat Museum in nearby Clayton showcases North America's largest collection of freshwater recreational boats. It is about a 30 to 40 minute drive from Kring Point and pairs well with a lunch stop in downtown Clayton.

Kring Point State Park, NY, United States
The park sits off NY Route 12 between Alexandria Bay and Hammond, about a 15 to 20 minute drive from Alexandria Bay and roughly 45 minutes (40 miles) from Watertown. From Syracuse it is about a 2 hour 15 minute drive north via Interstate 81 and Route 12, and from Ottawa, Ontario it is roughly a 1 hour 30 minute drive including the Thousand Islands Bridge crossing. RV drivers should note the Thousand Islands Bridge toll and customs inspection for cross-border trips, and the final park access road is narrow with tight turns at the peninsula, so slower maneuvering is recommended for larger rigs. The nearest commercial airports for fly-and-rent trips are Syracuse Hancock International (SYR) and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International (YOW).
