Late June through August brings the warmest, driest weather and the most reliable lake conditions for swimming, paddling and waterskiing. Swimmer's itch can sometimes be a problem in mid-summer, so travelers may prefer early July or late August. May and September are quieter shoulder months with cooler nights and fewer crowds, though some services may be reduced. Winter visitation is limited as the campground is closed outside the operating season.

The day-use area has a wide, sandy beach for summer visitors. An area is roped off for swimming, with changing rooms, an open air shower and washrooms provided. There are no lifeguards on duty. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclahache/
Lac La Hache is an excellent fishing lake for kokanee, rainbow and lake trout, and burbot. Anyone fishing in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence; see the fishing and hunting guide. Summer months are the most productive. bcparks.ca/lac-la-hache-park/
Lac La Hache is one of the most popular recreation lakes along Highway 97 for powerboating and waterskiing. A double-wide, cement ramp boat launch is provided at the day-use area. Clean hulls before launching to prevent the spread of Eurasian water milfoil. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclahache/
Canoeing and kayaking are enjoyable activities on Lac La Hache, though the lake is also used for powerboating and waterskiing. Paddlers should stick to quieter early-morning hours and stay close to shore when motorized traffic is heavy. bcparks.ca/lac-la-hache-park/
The campground has a self-guided interpretive trail that winds through old-growth Douglas-fir forest. One of the stops on the park's interpretive trail is on the actual Cariboo Wagon Road, whose overgrown track seems a far cry from modern Highway 97. The walk is flat and suitable for most ages. bcparks.ca/lac-la-hache-park/
The day-use area is family-friendly with a covered shelter and adventure playground. There is a covered shelter with picnic tables and a wood stove, change houses, pit and flush toilets, cold water taps, and fire pits. Horseshoe pits are also located in the campground. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclahache/
The Heritage House at 108 Mile is a historic site near the park showcasing Cariboo ranching and Wagon Road history. It is a 30 minute drive from the campground, and is open from May to September. An easy RV-friendly side trip along Highway 97. bcparks.ca/lac-la-hache-park/
The lakeside forest supports diverse wildlife, including bald eagle, osprey and red-tailed hawk, plus pileated woodpeckers and other forest birds. The park's old-growth Douglas-fir stand and lake habitat make it productive for birders. Bring binoculars and use pullouts along park roads. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclahache/

Evan was easy to reach, delivery and setup were seamless, the trailer was clean, and it was well stocked with essentials. We loved being able to add on a propane fire pit for summertime smores. We would definitely book again, highly recommend!
