Late fall through early spring, roughly November to March, offers the most comfortable conditions for RV travel, with mild days, cool nights, and fewer mosquitoes. Spring shoulder months bring wildflowers and active birdlife, making them a favorite for nature-focused visitors. Summers in Laredo are hot, often exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so RVers should plan for powered sites, shade, and early morning activities. Weekends and Texas school holidays tend to be the busiest, so midweek stays are best for a quieter camp.

Lake Casa Blanca is a 1,680-acre reservoir known for largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie. Anglers can fish from shore, from the lighted fishing pier, or by boat. A valid Texas fishing license is not required to fish within the state park.
The park offers a multi-lane boat ramp with paved parking suitable for trucks and trailers. Power boating, kayaking, and canoeing are all popular on the open waters of the lake.
A designated swim area along the lakeshore provides a place to cool off during hot South Texas days. There are no lifeguards on duty, so swimmers should use caution.
The park lies within the South Texas brush country, home to green jays, caracaras, pyrrhuloxias, and a variety of waterbirds. Early morning walks along trails and shoreline yield the best sightings.
Shaded picnic sites with tables and grills are scattered through the park, and a group pavilion is available by reservation. Most picnic areas have drive-up parking that accommodates tow vehicles.
Short trails and park roads thread through mesquite and huisache brushland, offering easy walking and wildlife viewing. Trails are generally flat and suitable for most fitness levels.
Developed campsites with water and electric hookups sit near the lake, with some pull-through and back-in options for RVs. Restrooms with showers and a dump station serve the camping loops.
Very impressed with Laura, she had a family emergency and still got the trailer delivered on time.

Lake Casa Blanca International State Park, TX, United States
The park sits on the northeast edge of Laredo off Loop 20 and Bob Bullock Loop, just minutes from Interstate 35. Common drives include about 150 miles south from San Antonio, roughly 2.5 hours via I-35, and about 235 miles southwest from Corpus Christi. RV drivers should watch for heavy commercial truck traffic on I-35 near the border and for strong crosswinds on open stretches of South Texas highway; there are no significant tunnels or mountain passes on the approach. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Laredo International Airport, only a few miles from the park entrance.
