October through April offers the most comfortable RV weather at Lake Havasu, with warm, dry days and cool nights ideal for lakeside camping. Spring break weeks and holiday weekends draw large crowds and boater traffic, so shoulder months like November, February, and early March are best for quieter sites. Summer temperatures routinely top 105 F, which is hard on RV AC systems and pets, though the lake itself stays busy with boaters. The campground remains open year round, so snowbirds often stay for extended winter visits.

Windsor Beach is the park's main sandy swim beach on the Colorado River impoundment. Shaded ramadas, picnic tables, and paved parking make it an easy stop for RV campers staying in the adjacent campground. Water access is gentle for kids and paddlers.
The Mohave Sunset Trail is a 1.75-mile desert loop hike along the shoreline and back through a wash. It passes creosote flats, saguaro-dotted hills, and several viewpoints over the lake. The trailhead has paved parking suitable for tow vehicles.
This short interpretive walk identifies Sonoran Desert plants and wildlife. Signs explain how native species survive the desert climate, making it a good introduction for first-time visitors. The level path is stroller and mobility friendly.
The park has multiple boat ramps providing direct access to Lake Havasu for powerboating, wakesports, and fishing. The reservoir is known for largemouth and smallmouth bass, striped bass, catfish, and bluegill. Trailer parking is available near the ramps.
Calm coves near Windsor Beach are ideal for kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. Paddlers can explore quiet inlets away from main boat traffic and reach small beaches only accessible by water. Launch directly from the shoreline.
The historic London Bridge, relocated from England and reassembled in Lake Havasu City, spans a channel just south of the park. Visitors can walk the bridge, browse the English Village shops, and dine waterside. It's a short drive or bike ride from the campground.
Day trips by boat reach BLM shoreline campsites along the Arizona side of Lake Havasu. The Lake Havasu Field Office manages 73 boat-access campsites over 20 miles of Arizona shoreline, with picnic tables, barbecue grills, trash receptacles, and most sites offering a restroom and shade structure. These make scenic stops for picnicking or swimming. blm.gov/visit/lake-havasu-shoreline-sites
Jim was great, he delivered our trailer to Echo Lodge Campground on time, everything was set up, AC running, fridge was cold upon our arrival. He called me prior to us arriving and after we arrived to make sure everything was in proper working order. Trailer was roomy and clean, everything worked as it should. It was stocked with basic necessities such as plastic cups, silverware, k-cup coffee, soap, sponges and it had some bowls and plates. There was a couple pots and pans, kitchen utensils, etc. My only recommendation would be to have some extra toilet paper and cleaning supplies to keep it clean for a 7 day trip. The queen bed was very comfortable, and AC was cold. The two bunk beds were good, maybe bring a mattress topper or foam pad. The couch makes into a small bed life a child or small adult. The outdoor fridge was great, he included some extra chairs and and outdoor rug. Would definitely recommend for any family for a great time!

Lake Havasu State Park, AZ, United States
The park sits just off Arizona State Route 95 on the north edge of Lake Havasu City, about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Las Vegas, Nevada (roughly 150 miles) and about 3.5 to 4 hours from Phoenix (around 200 miles). From I-40 east of Needles, California, follow AZ Highway 95 south toward Lake Havasu City to reach the park entrance at London Bridge Road. The route is RV friendly with no tunnels or severe grades, though crosswinds on SR-95 and desert heat can stress cooling systems, so top off fuel and water before the final stretch. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent trips is Laughlin/Bullhead International (about 60 miles north), with larger options at Las Vegas Harry Reid International and Phoenix Sky Harbor.
