Late May through September is the prime window, when the campground is fully open, the swim beach is staffed seasonally, and daytime highs are comfortable for paddling and hiking. July and August bring the warmest water and busiest weekends, so midweek stays are easier to book. Early June and September are excellent shoulder-season choices for RV travel, with cooler nights, fewer bugs, and quieter trails. October adds fall color in the hardwoods, though overnight temperatures can drop below freezing.

The park's sand swim beach on Lake Louise is the centerpiece of summer day use. Shallow, calm water makes it family friendly, and a large day-use parking area handles vehicles with tow setups.
Lake Louise is a small flat-water lake ideal for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. A carry-in access point near the picnic area keeps launches simple, and no-wake conditions keep the water calm for beginners.
The park has several miles of hiking trails that loop through hardwood forest, restored prairie, and along the river. Routes are mostly flat to gently rolling and link the campground to the lake and river overlooks.
Lake Louise includes designated horse trails and a horse camp area, making it a regional draw for equestrians. RV travelers with trailers can access separate horse-camp parking suited for larger rigs.
Anglers fish Lake Louise and the adjoining Upper Iowa River and Little Iowa Creek for panfish, largemouth bass, and catfish. Shore access is good from the dam area and picnic grounds, and a Minnesota fishing license is required.
The paved Shooting Star State Trail runs nearby between LeRoy and Austin, making a scenic biking or walking route through wildflower prairie. RVers can drive to trailheads in town with standard parking.
Large picnic areas near the lake offer shaded tables, grills, and a shelter that can be reserved. The mix of woods, water, and prairie attracts deer, wild turkeys, songbirds, and waterfowl.

Lake Louise State Park, MN, United States
The park sits just outside LeRoy, Minnesota, reached via County Road 14 off of Minnesota Highway 56. Rochester is about 45 miles north, roughly an hour's drive, and the Twin Cities are about 150 miles north, around two and a half to three hours by RV. Austin, Minnesota and Mason City, Iowa are each within an hour, and the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Rochester International Airport (RST), with Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) as the larger option. Roads in the area are gentle farmland highways with no mountain passes or tunnels, but the final county road and park entrance are narrow, so drivers of longer rigs should take turns slowly and watch for soft shoulders.
