Shoulder seasons in April and October are excellent for RV travel, with mild days, cooler nights, fall color, and fewer crowds, though some concessions and the marina may operate on reduced hours. How to get to Lake of the Ozarks State Park

The park is in central Missouri near Kaiser, about 40 miles southwest of Jefferson City, roughly 170 miles (about 3 hours) west of St. Louis via I-44 and US-54, and about 180 miles (3 to 3.5 hours) southeast of Kansas City. RV drivers reach the park via US-54 and Missouri Route 134, both of which handle large rigs well, but interior park roads are hilly and winding with some tight turns near boat ramps and the Ozark Caverns area. Watch for steep grades on secondary routes and low-clearance service drives, and use caution on narrow lakeside loops when towing. The closest full-service airport for fly-and-rent trips is Kansas City International (MCI), with St. Louis Lambert (STL) and Springfield-Branson (SGF) also within reasonable driving distance.
