The best time to visit is late October through April, when humidity drops, mosquitoes thin out, and daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s Fahrenheit. Winter and early spring also bring peak paddling conditions and the best wildlife viewing. Summer is hot, humid, and stormy, with afternoon thunderstorms and heavy insect pressure, so RVers who travel in the warm months should plan for early-morning activities and full hookup cooling needs.

A 6.5-mile backcountry loop tracing the north side of the river through oak hammocks, pine flatwoods, and sandhill scrub. The trail is the signature hike in the park and begins from a dedicated trailhead with RV-friendly parking. Check in at the ranger station before starting. floridastateparks.org/LittleManateeRiver
Canoe and kayak paddling on a designated Outstanding Florida Water framed by cypress and palmetto. A launch area within the park provides river access, and outfitters nearby offer rentals and shuttle service. Wildlife sightings include wading birds, otters, and alligators.
A short interpretive loop near the campground that introduces visitors to the park's river ecology and plant communities. Flat and well marked, it is a good morning walk before breakfast at the RV site.
The park maintains a dedicated multi-mile horse trail system and on-site stables for visitors bringing their own horses. Trailered riders can park rigs at the equestrian staging area.
Anglers fish the Little Manatee River for largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and, near the tidal stretches, snook and redfish. A valid Florida freshwater fishing license is required for most species.
Shaded picnic pavilions near the river and day-use area make a relaxing midday stop. Gopher tortoises, deer, and numerous songbirds are commonly seen along park roads and clearings.
The park participates in Florida State Parks geocaching programs, and its varied habitats make it a rewarding spot for birding and wildflower identification in winter and spring.

Everything worked perfectly! Moises is a great host, he responded to all my questions and calls and even provided his personal camping app, which is a great find if you are into off grid cool safe camping spots to discover. It's not fancy on the outside, but the price is good and all the features are functional.

Excellent Campervan Experience We recently rented a campervan to travel to Savannah and Northern Georgia. We had a great time, thanks to the excellent orientation provided by Morgan. We truly had everything we needed, from a French Press to start our days out right to a comfy bed that accommodated two adults comfortably. It was an amazing experience, with all the comforts of home while still being able to connect with nature. Morgan was a phenomenal host and we can't recommend him highly enough!

Little Manatee River State Park, FL, United States
The park sits off US 301 in Wimauma, roughly 30 miles (about 40 minutes) south of downtown Tampa and 35 miles (about 45 minutes) north of Sarasota via I-75 to SR 674. Orlando is approximately 90 miles (under two hours) northeast. Access roads are flat Florida highways with no mountain passes or tunnels, though the final park entrance road is a narrow two-lane with low-hanging tree canopy, so tall Class A rigs should take corners slowly. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Tampa International Airport (TPA), about 40 miles north.
