July and August bring warm, humid weather that is ideal for swimming and paddling but can feel muggy for hiking. The campground typically operates from spring through late fall, so shoulder-season RV trips often mean quieter loops and easier weekend reservations. Winter is cold and quiet, with day-use access but limited camping services.
