Mid-June through late August is the best window for RV travel, offering warm daytime temperatures, long northern daylight, and all campgrounds, boat launches, and beaches fully open. July is the busiest month, so reservations for powered sites at Kimball Lake and Greig Lake should be made well in advance. Early September is an excellent shoulder season for fishing and fall colours with fewer bugs and thinner crowds, though some services begin to wind down after Labour Day. Late May can be pleasant but black flies and mosquitoes are often at their peak.

Greig Lake is the park's main swimming and day-use hub, with a sandy beach, shallow warm water, and a large RV-friendly campground nearby. Facilities include a concession, picnic area, and playground steps from the shoreline.
Meadow Lake Provincial Park protects more than two dozen lakes known for walleye, northern pike, lake trout, and perch. Boat launches with trailer parking are available at Waterhen Lake, Flotten Lake, Lac des Iles, and Greig Lake campgrounds.
Kimball Lake is a quiet, electric-motor-only lake popular for canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The adjacent campground has powered sites that can accommodate larger RVs and direct beach access.
Newbern Lake Trail is a short interpretive loop through mixed boreal forest with a chance to see moose, beaver activity, and waterfowl. The trailhead has pullout parking suitable for tow vehicles after unhitching.
The scenic drive between Greig Lake and Waterhen Lake on Highway 224 passes through prime moose, black bear, and sandhill crane habitat. Several pullouts and day-use sites offer safe spots for RVers to park and watch for wildlife.
Lac des Iles is one of the largest lakes in the park and a favourite for powerboating, water skiing, and sport fishing. The campground offers a boat launch, marina services, and RV sites with electrical hookups.
Paved stretches of Highway 224 and the loop roads within Greig and Kimball campgrounds provide low-traffic cycling for families. Riders should watch for wildlife and keep high-visibility gear on for logging truck traffic on connector routes.

Andrew’s RV was beautiful, in pristine condition, and well-stocked. Andrew was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He can calculate his arrival and departure times to the minute, and he is very accommodating. We loved our experience renting from Andrew and highly recommend him!

Meadow Lake Provincial Park, SK, Canada
The park sits just north of the town of Meadow Lake, about a 3.5 hour drive (roughly 330 km) north of Saskatoon on Highways 16 and 4, and about a 5 hour drive (roughly 460 km) northeast of Edmonton via Highways 16, 28, and 55. Access within the park is on paved Highway 4 and Highway 224, both suitable for large RVs, though some secondary gravel roads to backcountry lakes can be rough, dusty, and narrow. Watch for wildlife on the highway at dawn and dusk, and fuel up in the town of Meadow Lake before entering the park, as services inside are limited. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE).
