A paved 1.3-mile road climbs from the base parking area to the summit of Pack Monadnock. It offers easy access to views for those who prefer not to hike, though the road is narrow and steep with tight curves. Small vehicles are recommended; large RVs should park below.
The Wapack Trail is a blazed hiking route that climbs directly from the base lot to Pack Monadnock's 2,290-foot summit. The trail is rocky and steep in sections, with open ledges offering views on the ascent. Round trip is about 2.4 miles.
The Marion Davis Trail is an alternative route to the summit from the base parking area, often hiked as a loop with the Wapack Trail. It is slightly gentler than the Wapack and passes through hardwood forest. Expect roughly a 2.5-mile round trip.
Pack Monadnock's open summit is a known hawk-watching site during fall migration, staffed by volunteers on many autumn days. Thousands of raptors pass overhead between September and early November. Bring binoculars and warm layers.
The summit area has picnic tables and open ledges with sweeping views across southern New Hampshire. It is a popular spot for a packed lunch after the drive or hike up. Restrooms are available seasonally.
Experienced hikers can continue north along the Wapack Trail from the summit toward North Pack Monadnock, a longer ridge hike with additional viewpoints. The full out-and-back adds several miles and significant elevation change. Start early and carry water.
Miller State Park is a popular foliage-viewing destination in late September and early October. The summit provides a 360-degree perspective over the Monadnock region's colorful forests. Arrive early on peak weekends to secure parking.

Miller State Park, NH, United States
The park entrance is on NH Route 101 in Peterborough, about 20 minutes (13 miles) east of Keene and roughly 1 hour 15 minutes (about 70 miles) northwest of Boston via Route 3 and Route 101. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent trips, about 40 miles east. RV drivers should use caution on the narrow, steep summit auto road, which has tight curves and is not recommended for large motorhomes or trailers; park base-area lots are better suited for longer rigs.
