July and August bring the warmest, driest weather and the best beach and tide-pool conditions, but sites fill quickly. Miracle Beach is a very popular destination during the summer, and campsite reservations are highly recommended. Shoulder months of May, June, and September offer milder temperatures, quieter campgrounds, and easier RV site availability. Fall visits reward travelers with salmon-spawning viewing at the Black Creek weir.

The park's signature activity is exploring its broad sandy beach fronting the Strait of Georgia. At low tide, the beach features rich tide pools, perfect for observing a variety of marine life. RV parking is available at the day-use lots a short walk from the shore. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
A network of easy forest trails winds through the park from the campground and day-use areas. There are about 2 km of walking trails in the park, leading through second-growth and some old-growth forest. Suitable for all ages and stroller-friendly in most sections. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
A viewing deck near the park entrance offers a close look at spawning salmon. A viewing platform and fish weir located near the BC Parks office at the entrance provides an interesting opportunity to view the Black Creek, particularly in the spring and fall when salmon are spawning, and interpretive signage offers information about the fish weir. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
The park is a productive spot for spotting coastal birdlife and marine mammals. Miracle Beach is also a good place for bird watching, and from the beach visitors have excellent views out over the Strait of Georgia. Bring binoculars to scan for eagles, herons, and passing orcas. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
A quiet trail follows Black Creek to its estuary at the north end of the park. Some trails follow the Black Creek and the Estuary at the northwest end of the park. Expect calm water views and a good chance of spotting waterfowl. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
The park's large picnic area is purpose-built for family outings. Miracle Beach features a playground for the kids, hot showers, a large picnic area overlooking the water, and a series of lovely trails winding through lush forest. Day-use parking accommodates RVs and tow vehicles. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
The park's central location makes it an excellent RV basecamp for exploring the region. Located on the waterfront midway between Courtenay and Campbell River, this park provides easy access to both communities and a wealth of entertainment. Both towns offer shopping, dining, and fuel stops. bcparks.ca/miracle-beach-park/
Great hosts. Friendly and responsive. Trailer was exactly as described and had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. The king bed was comfy, my kids complained a bit about the bunk mattresses, they were a little thin.

Miracle Beach Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park sits on Vancouver Island's east coast between two main hubs. It is located 22 km north of Courtenay and 22 km south of Campbell River off Hwy 19a; from Hwy 19 take exit #144 (Hamm Road) to Hwy 19a, the Oceanside Route, then head north a short distance to Miracle Beach Drive and drive 2 km straight into the park. Access roads are paved and RV-friendly with no tunnels or steep mountain passes, though drivers reaching Vancouver Island from the mainland must first take a BC Ferries sailing (Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo or Tsawwassen to Duke Point), which has vehicle height and length limits to confirm in advance. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Comox Valley Airport (YQQ), roughly 30 minutes south.
