Late June through early September delivers the warmest, driest weather on the Sunshine Coast, ideal for swimming, paddling Sechelt Inlet, and beach days. July and August are peak season with reservations filling early, so booking well ahead is essential. Shoulder months of May, June, and September offer quieter campgrounds and mild temperatures, though rain becomes more frequent into fall.

Trails beside Angus Creek wind through lush, cool forest, with a bridge over the creek leading to the mudflats of the estuary where a variety of waterfowl and shorebirds can be observed. Easy grades suit most walkers and families staying in the campground. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/
The park features sandy beaches along Sechelt Inlet that warm up on summer afternoons. There are swimming opportunities in this park, but there are no lifeguards on duty in BC Parks. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/
Canoeing and kayaking opportunities are available near Porpoise Bay Park. The park makes an excellent basecamp for paddlers exploring the Sechelt Inlet. Paddlers can launch from the day-use area for calm-water exploration. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/
Harbour seals and bald eagles may be seen year-round. The estuary attracts waterfowl and shorebirds, and the salmon-bearing creek supports chum and coho runs in the fall. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/
Public access to Sechelt Inlets Marine Park is from Porpoise Bay Park or from Tillicum Bay Marina, one kilometre south of the community of Tuwanek. The marine park provides safe and enjoyable access to three protected inlets of Sechelt, Narrows and Salmon, and is ideal for kayaking. bcparks.ca/sechelt-inlets-marine-park/
There is an estuary in the park that is home to many shore birds. A short walk from the campground reaches viewing points above the mudflats, best at lower tides. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/
Paved campground loops and nearby Sechelt Inlet Road offer easy cycling for families. Bicycles must keep to roadways, and bicycle helmets are mandatory in British Columbia. bcparks.ca/porpoise-bay-park/

Trailer is in good condition. All internal items/functions mentioned in listing are working as described. The owner is very prompt to questions, and helped setup all the basics (water, electricity, sewer) upon delivery. We had really great 1st time camping experience. Hope to rent with you again. :)

Porpoise Bay Provincial Park, BC, Canada
From Vancouver, travellers take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale (about 40 minutes on the water), then drive roughly 45 minutes up Highway 101 to Sechelt. The park is four kilometres north of Sechelt off Highway 101, with vehicle access via Sechelt Inlet Road northeast of Sechelt. RVers should reserve ferry space in advance, as Horseshoe Bay to Langdale sailings fill quickly in summer and oversize vehicles require confirmed bookings. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips, about a two-hour drive plus ferry from the park.
