From Seattle, drive north on Interstate 5 to Burlington, then take Highway 20 east toward Concrete (approximately 70 miles, 1.5 to 2 hours). The park is eight miles west of Concrete on Cape Horn Road. Highway 20 may close seasonally in winter due to snow and weather; check current conditions before traveling. The nearest airport is Bellingham International Airport, about 35 miles north. RVs up to 40 feet can access the park, though not all hookup sites accommodate full-size RVs.
Summer months (June through August) offer mild weather with highs in the mid-70s and minimal rain, ideal for hiking and family camping. Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) are excellent for visiting with fewer crowds and comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities. Winter (November-February) is peak season for bald eagle viewing along the river, though visitors should note that Highway 20 access may be restricted and campground water service is typically off. Note: Campground water is usually turned off November through March.

November through February, the Skagit River near Rasar hosts one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles in the lower 48 states. The park offers excellent viewing opportunities directly from campsites and along the River Trail, with peak viewing from Christmas through mid-January. skagiteagle.org/viewing-sites/
