Late June through August offers the warmest weather, longest daylight, and best conditions for swimming and boating on Babine Lake. July and August are peak season and the most reliable window for warm lake temperatures. Shoulder months of mid-May to mid-June and September bring cooler nights, fewer visitors, and strong fishing, though RVers should be ready for frost and rain. The gate is locked 24 hours per day in the off-season, so winter RV access is not available.

The Bluff Trail is a self-guided interpretive loop inside Red Bluff Park. It makes an easy 3 km loop, with wildlife viewing platforms along the way. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
Babine Lake is one of the top interior fisheries in British Columbia and is accessible directly from the park. Cutthroat, rainbow trout and char are found in the lake, and fly fishing and trolling yield good results. A valid BC freshwater licence is required. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
Red Bluff is a popular launch point for exploring the long shoreline of Babine Lake. The park has a moderate-grade boat launch plus a breakwater wharf and dock, with paddling, canoeing and kayaking opportunities right from shore. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
The park has a sandy shoreline with several beachfront campsites and open lake swimming. Five of the park's campsites sit directly on the beach. There are no lifeguards on duty in BC Parks, so swim with care. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
Scenic walking trails provide excellent lake views and the opportunity to observe wildlife close to the campground. Black bear and moose are especially abundant, and a variety of waterfowl and songbirds frequent the marsh areas. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
The Fulton River and Pinkut Creek spawning channels are a short drive from the park and form one of the largest sockeye enhancement facilities in North America. Late summer brings peak sockeye returns and is the best time to visit. bcparks.ca/red-bluff-park/
The nearby village of Granisle offers fuel, groceries, and lake viewpoints a short drive from the park. It is a practical restocking stop for RVers staying several nights on Babine Lake.

This was the second time we’ve booked Lilypad and we will very likely book this trailer next summer should the opportunity arise. Wendy and Michael are a pleasure to deal with and super accommodating. Also they were very prompt with drop off and pick up. Michael got us all set up with a great view of the lake.

Wendy and Micheal are wonderful to deal with. They always respond quickly and take great care of us! Delivery and pickup are always quick and on time. Micheal is amazing at getting the trailer into just the trailer in just the right spot! This is the third time we have rented from them and they have been amazing each time!

Red Bluff Provincial Park, BC, Canada
At the Village of Topley on Hwy 16, go north for 45 km on Hwy 118. Topley sits on the Yellowhead Highway between Smithers (about 55 km west) and Burns Lake (about 50 km east), making these the nearest service towns for fuel, groceries, and propane. Highway 118 is a paved secondary road with no tunnels or major mountain passes, but RVers should watch for logging trucks, wildlife on the road, and limited cell coverage. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Smithers Regional Airport, roughly a 100 km drive to the park.
