Mid-June through late August is the peak window, when lake temperatures are warm enough for swimming, full park services are running, and the beach, marina, and concession are open. July offers the most reliable hot weather but also the busiest weekends, so reservations are important. Shoulder visits in late May and early September bring cooler nights, fewer bugs, and quieter campgrounds, though some amenities wind down after Labour Day. Spring and fall RVers should pack for cold prairie nights and sudden wind on the lake.

The park's long sandy beach on Last Mountain Lake is the centrepiece for day-use and campground visitors. Shallow, warm water makes it a popular swim and wading spot in summer, with a playground and picnic areas close by. RV day-use parking is available near the main beach.
Last Mountain Lake is one of Saskatchewan's largest lakes and is known for walleye, northern pike, and perch fishing. The park marina offers a boat launch and moorage, and open water makes for strong sailing and power boating conditions. Crosswinds can be significant, so check the forecast before heading out.
A short trail system follows the ravine that gives the park its name, dropping from the upland prairie down toward the lake. Expect easy walking with prairie grassland and aspen bluff scenery, plus good birdwatching.
The park's service centre area includes a mini-golf course, playground, and concession. These amenities make it a practical stop for RV families with children during peak summer months.
The Last Mountain Lake area is an internationally significant bird migration corridor. Pelicans, cormorants, grebes, and a wide range of shorebirds and waterfowl can be spotted from the park shoreline, especially during spring and fall migration.
To the north of the park lies the Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area, one of the oldest bird sanctuaries in North America. It makes a strong day-trip option for RVers interested in prairie wetlands and migratory birds, with auto-tour routes accessible by vehicle.
Calm mornings on Last Mountain Lake are well suited to kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding from the park beach. Afternoon winds can pick up quickly on the open prairie lake, so plan paddling sessions early in the day.

PERFECT!!! Mark and his wife were fantastic to meet and deal with. This was my first experience renting a trailer, they made it very simple and accommodating for my family. Trailer was beyond stocked with everything you could need for a camping trip. Everything worked perfectly and they had done some really nice upgrades just before we got it. Thanks guys for a great time.

Rowan's Ravine Provincial Park, SK, Canada
From Regina, the drive is roughly 110 kilometres (about 1.5 hours) north via Highway 11 and Highway 20, then west on grid roads to the park entrance. From Saskatoon, plan on about 200 kilometres (2.5 hours) south on Highway 11 and east through Strasbourg. Roads are paved prairie highways without mountain passes, tunnels, or significant grades, making access straightforward for large RVs, though strong crosswinds on open stretches of Highway 20 are common and the final grid-road approach can be dusty or soft after heavy rain. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Regina International Airport (YQR).
