Late spring (April to May) and early fall (September to October) are the most comfortable times to tour the farm, house, and gristmill, with mild temperatures and lower humidity than midsummer. Summer brings warm, humid weather and the fullest interpretive programming, while October adds fall color across the Upper Cumberland. Winter visits are quieter, but cold snaps and occasional snow can limit outdoor walking on the grounds, and some historic buildings may have reduced winter hours.

Visitors can tour the preserved York family farmhouse, which holds original furnishings used by the York family. Furnishings throughout are those of the York family. Guided interpretation covers York's life after returning from France.
The water-powered gristmill on the Wolf River is the centerpiece of the park grounds. Interpretive signage explains how York operated the mill for the local Pall Mall community. The short walk from the parking area is flat and stroller-friendly.
Alvin York is buried in the cemetery at the adjacent Wolf River Methodist Church. The site includes the Wolf River Methodist Church and the cemetery in which York is buried. A short walk from the main parking area leads to the gravesite.
Exhibits interpret York's Medal of Honor action in the Argonne Forest and his later efforts to bring schools and roads to rural Fentress County. Displays include period photographs, military artifacts, and family memorabilia. It is an easy indoor stop suited to all ages.
Shaded picnic areas along the Wolf River offer a quiet spot to break up a driving day. The river frontage borders much of the historic site. Bring a lunch from nearby Jamestown or Pall Mall.
The park makes a natural stop on a scenic drive across the Upper Cumberland. Nearby routes connect to Pickett CCC Memorial State Park and Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. Expect winding two-lane roads best suited to moderate speeds.
Pickett State Park lies a short drive northeast and offers hiking, natural arches, and a developed campground for RV overnights. It pairs well with a half-day visit to the York site. Trails range from easy boardwalks to moderate backcountry loops.

Sgt. Alvin C. York State Historic Park, TN, United States
The park sits in Pall Mall along US 127 and TN 28, about a 30 minute drive north of Jamestown, roughly 75 to 90 minutes from Cookeville, and about 2.5 to 3 hours from Nashville or Knoxville. RV drivers should expect two-lane rural highways with rolling grades climbing onto the Cumberland Plateau, so allow extra time and watch for slow traffic during the annual US 127 Yard Sale corridor events. Nashville International Airport (BNA) and McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Knoxville are the nearest major fly-and-rent options. Parking at the park is limited to a small day-use lot, so larger motorhomes should approach slowly and scout pull-through space.
