April through May and late September through October offer the best balance of warm Gulf water, lower humidity, and lighter crowds than peak summer. June through August brings the warmest beach weather but also the highest humidity, afternoon thunderstorms, and peak campground demand, so reservations should be made far in advance. Winter months are mild and quiet, making them attractive for snowbird RVers, though water temperatures are too cool for most swimmers. Hurricane season runs from June through November, and RV travelers should monitor forecasts closely in August and September.

Jetty Beach is the park's signature swimming and snorkeling spot, protected by a rock jetty at the pass between the Gulf and Grand Lagoon. Calm water and marine life attract snorkelers, and a large paved day-use parking area accommodates tow vehicles once RVs are set up at the campground.
Two fishing piers give anglers access to Gulf and lagoon waters without needing a boat. Common catches include redfish, Spanish mackerel, flounder, and whiting, and piers are open for shore-based fishing with a Florida saltwater license.
Gator Lake Trail is a short, flat walking path that loops around a small freshwater pond near the campground. Interpretive signs highlight alligators, wading birds, and coastal flora, making it an easy outing for RV campers staying on-site.
A seasonal concessionaire shuttle boat runs from the park marina to Shell Island, an undeveloped barrier island across the pass. Visitors can swim, beachcomb, and look for dolphins in the clear Gulf waters before returning on a later shuttle.
The Sand Pine Nature Trail winds through coastal sand pine scrub and pine flatwoods habitat. The short interpretive walk showcases native Panhandle ecosystems and connects to picnic pavilions with nearby day-use parking for trucks towing RVs.
Grand Lagoon offers calm, protected water ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding. A boat ramp and shoreline launch points give RV campers easy access to sheltered paddling without dealing with Gulf swells.
A reconstructed Florida Cracker turpentine still interprets the area's 19th and early 20th century naval stores industry. The short interpretive stop is near the park's main road and accessible during a walk or bike ride from the campground.

St. Andrews State Park, FL, United States
The park sits at the eastern end of Panama City Beach, about 10 miles south of Panama City and roughly a 20-minute drive from downtown. From Pensacola, plan about 1 hour 45 minutes west via US-98; from Tallahassee, allow around 2 hours east via US-98 and US-231. The main park entrance is reached via Thomas Drive and Magnolia Beach Road, which are standard paved roads without tunnels, steep grades, or low-clearance bridges, though tight turns inside the park may challenge very large rigs. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) near Panama City Beach is the closest airport for fly-and-rent travelers.
