Pike Run Hills is a multi-loop backcountry trail system in the park's rugged northern hills. Hikers and backpackers can piece together shorter day loops or longer overnight routes through oak-hickory forest and along seasonal creeks. Trailhead parking is suitable for most tow vehicles and smaller RVs.
Mooner's Hollow is a scenic loop that follows Coonville Creek through the park's designated wild area. The trail winds through shaded hardwood forest, past rock outcrops, and along a spring-fed stream popular with photographers. Parking at the trailhead accommodates standard vehicles.
Swimmin' Deer is a short nature trail ideal for families and campers looking for a quick walk near the campground. It passes through streamside woodland with interpretive views of local plants and terrain. The trailhead is easily reached from RV sites.
The Big River runs along the park's western boundary and is a popular spot for canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing for smallmouth bass and sunfish. Paddlers can launch from river access points inside the park. Day-use parking areas accommodate vehicles with trailers.
The Coonville Creek Wild Area is a designated state wild area protecting rugged hills, clear streams, and mature forest. Hikers can access it via connecting park trails for a more remote backcountry experience. It is a highlight for visitors seeking solitude close to camp.
The park's picnic areas offer shaded tables, grills, and shelters near the Big River and campground. They provide a relaxed base for families between hikes or river outings. Day-use lots fit most tow vehicles and smaller RVs.
Beautiful RV, very spacious. Owners were very sweet and fast to respond to communication.

We rented this camper for a weekend trip. Ralph is very nice & responded quickly to our questions. He was very accommodating to our pick up & drop off times. The camper was just like the pictures except the outside was faded a little which did not matter to us. It was clean and well taken care of. It was well stocked with cooking/eating needs. It even had a coffee maker, toaster, condiments, outdoor chairs, & much more. The bed was very comfy. I would rent it again.

St. Francois State Park, MO, United States
The park is off U.S. Highway 67 just north of Bonne Terre, about 75 miles south of St. Louis (roughly a 90-minute drive) and about 60 miles north of Poplar Bluff. U.S. 67 is a four-lane divided highway well suited to RV travel, with no major tunnels or steep mountain passes, though the final park access road is winding with short grades and tight turns near the campground loops. Watch for low-clearance branches on interior roads and check site length before booking. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), about a 90-minute drive north.
