Stonelick State Park, OH, United States
Stonelick State Park lies about 35 miles east of downtown Cincinnati, roughly a 45 to 60 minute drive via US 50 and State Route 727 or State Route 131. Dayton is about 75 miles north, Columbus is approximately 110 miles northeast, and Lexington, Kentucky is roughly 100 miles south. The approach roads are rural two-lane state routes with some tight turns, narrow shoulders, and low-clearance rural bridges, so larger RVs should plan routes carefully and avoid unmarked back roads. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers.
Late spring through early fall is the best window for RV travel, with May, June, and September offering warm days, cooler nights, and fewer bugs than midsummer. July and August bring peak crowds, hot and humid weather, and the busiest weekends at the beach and boat ramp. October is excellent for quieter camping and fall color along the lake, though nights cool quickly. Winter camping is limited and facilities such as the beach, camp store, and some restrooms are seasonal.

Stonelick Lake is a 200-acre no-wake reservoir stocked and managed for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, channel catfish, and saugeye. Shoreline access and a boat ramp make it accessible for anglers of all levels. A valid Ohio fishing license is required for those 16 and over.
The Lakeview Trail is a short, easy loop that follows the shoreline near the campground and picnic area. It offers good birdwatching and views of the lake. The trail is suitable for most hikers, including families with young children.
The Beech Ridge Trail winds through mixed hardwood forest with mature beech and oak near the lake. Expect gentle rolling terrain and seasonal wildflowers in spring. It is a good choice for a moderate morning hike from the campground.
A designated swimming beach on Stonelick Lake offers sand, shallow water, and nearby restrooms. The beach is unguarded and typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Parking accommodates day-use vehicles and tow vehicles.
Stonelick Lake is ideal for kayaks, canoes, and small fishing boats because of its 10 horsepower limit. A boat ramp and launch area provide easy access for RV travelers bringing cartop or trailered craft. Quiet coves along the shoreline are good for wildlife viewing.
Several picnic areas with tables, grills, and shelters are spread along the lakeshore. Shelters can be reserved for groups, and open sites are available first come, first served. The picnic areas are a short walk or drive from the campground.
The park's mix of lake, wetland, and mature woods supports great blue herons, kingfishers, wood ducks, woodpeckers, and white-tailed deer. Early morning and dusk are the best times to see wildlife along the trails and shoreline. Binoculars and a field guide enhance the experience.
Highly recommend 15/10 rating here. Clean and ready to go upon the agreed time and extremely flexible for my rental return considering I hit a traffic jam for 4 hours. Will be renting again from him alone when my personal goes down.
