Late May through September is the prime window, with warm, dry days, reliable lake access, and fully open campground loops. July and August bring peak summer crowds and hot afternoons, so reservations fill quickly. Shoulder months of May, early June, and late September offer cooler weather, lighter traffic, and good fishing on Lake Chelan. The campground typically closes for the winter season, so RVers should confirm opening dates before planning a spring or fall trip.

The park marina is the principal public boat launch for accessing up-lake destinations on 50-mile-long Lake Chelan. Boaters can reach Deer Point (about 4 miles), Corral Creek (9 miles), Prince Creek (15 miles), and Stehekin (about 35 miles) from the park ramp. fs.usda.gov/recarea/okawen/recarea?recid=57317
This forested national forest trail climbs into the hills above the park and offers views of Lake Chelan at higher elevations. The full route runs about 10.5 miles and connects Handy Springs and Snowberry campgrounds in the surrounding Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. fs.usda.gov/recarea/okawen/null/recarea/?recid=57293&actid=50
The park offers shoreline day-use areas with swimming access to Lake Chelan. Calm mornings are ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding before afternoon winds pick up on the lake.
Lake Chelan supports fisheries for lake trout, kokanee, chinook salmon, and smallmouth bass. The park's boat launch and shoreline provide both boat and bank angling opportunities with a valid Washington fishing license.
The remote village of Stehekin at the head of Lake Chelan is reachable from the park by private boat or by connecting to the Lady of the Lake ferry service. The trip showcases the deep fjord-like upper lake flanked by North Cascades peaks. fs.usda.gov/recarea/okawen/recarea?recid=57317
This national forest trail follows Lake Chelan's north shore through the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. Hikers typically boat from the park to Prince Creek, Moore Point, or Stehekin to access the trailhead, which features viewpoints at Hunts Bluff near Moore Point. fs.usda.gov/recarea/okawen/recarea?recid=57317
The park marina and day-use area offer picnic sites, restrooms, and shoreline views of the lake and surrounding mountains. It is a convenient base for RVers waiting out the midday heat or watching boats return from up-lake trips.
Stayed in the camper for two nights at a campground just outside Wenatchee. Had everything we needed, the AC was an absolute saver in the summer heat. Host was incredibly responsive and nice, would happily rent again.

Best camping trip ever. We showed up at the camp site and everything was set up and hooked up. Very clean and well appointed. We will rent from them again.

Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park, WA, United States
From the town of Chelan, travel south on Highway 97A for about 3 miles, then turn onto Southshore Road and continue approximately 17 miles to the park entrance. Southshore Road is paved but narrow and winding, with lake-side drop-offs and tight curves that require slow, cautious driving in larger RVs and trailers. Wenatchee is roughly 55 miles southeast via US-97 and offers the closest full-service fuel and grocery stops for RVers. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Pangborn Memorial Airport in East Wenatchee, while Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is about a four-hour drive west across Stevens Pass.
