Late April through June and September into October are generally the most comfortable months, with mild temperatures, greener scenery, and lower humidity than midsummer. July and August bring warm, humid days that are ideal for swimming and paddling but can produce afternoon thunderstorms. Fall shoulder season offers cooler nights, fewer crowds at the campground, and Appalachian foliage. Winters are mild but damp, and some seasonal services such as the pool and marina rentals are closed.

The Fort Patrick Henry Reservoir of the Holston River borders the park and is the centerpiece of its water recreation. A marina offers boat launches and seasonal rentals, and anglers target bass, crappie, catfish, and bluegill from shore or boat.
The park maintains several miles of hiking and nature trails through wooded ridges and lakeside terrain. Routes range from short interpretive loops near the nature center to longer trails with rolling grades suitable for moderate hikers.
An 18-hole public golf course operates within the park and is open to day visitors. Tree-lined fairways and rolling terrain make it a popular stop for RV travelers who want to squeeze in a round during their stay.
A wooded 18-hole disc golf course is free to play and popular with families. Parking for the course is a short drive from the main campground, with space suitable for tow vehicles and smaller RVs.
A seasonal outdoor swimming pool complex with water slides operates in the warmer months for day-use guests and campers. It is one of the most popular summer attractions in the park and can fill up on hot weekends.
The park features dedicated singletrack mountain biking trails that wind through the wooded terrain around the lake. Loops include both beginner-friendly sections and more technical routes for experienced riders.
Seasonal horseback trail rides are offered from the park's stables, with guided outings suitable for beginners. Separate equestrian trails allow riders to explore wooded sections of the park away from hiking paths.
Multiple picnic areas and shelters along the reservoir provide easy day-use stops with lake views. Picnic shelters and playgrounds are accessible by car from the main park road, with parking large enough for tow vehicles.
Was perfect for our family trip to Louder than Life 2025! Drove like a dream, great on fuel mileage, and was so nice to come back every night to A/C and soft beds. Any questions I had the owner responded almost immediately and was so easy to deal with. Hope i convinced him to join us at LTL 2026. Would definitely recommend, 10/10, and will be renting him again in the future

Warriors Path State Park, TN, United States
The park sits just off Interstate 26 in Kingsport, Tennessee, about 10 minutes from downtown Kingsport, roughly 25 miles (30 minutes) from Johnson City, and about 100 miles (around 2 hours) northeast of Knoxville via I-81 and I-26. RV drivers approaching from the north or east cross ridge-and-valley terrain with rolling grades on I-81 and I-26, so check brakes and watch for crosswinds on mountain stretches. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Tri-Cities Airport (TRI) near Blountville, about 15 miles from the park.
