Campgrounds and RV parks near The Pas, MB

The Pas sits in northwestern Manitoba at the junction of the Saskatchewan River and PTH 10, the main corridor to the province's northern parks. Campers use the town as a supply stop before heading into two large Manitoba Parks systems that dominate the region: Clearwater Lake Provincial Park to the north and Grass River Provincial Park farther up PTH 10 and PTH 39. Clearwater Lake Provincial Park is reached by following PTH 10 north 19 km from The Pas, then east on PR 287 for another 19 km. The park operates two frontcountry campgrounds, Campers Cove - Clearwater Lake Provincial Park and Pioneer Bay - Clearwater Lake Provincial Park, on opposite sides of the lake, with a mix of electrical and basic sites suited to RVs and tents. Grass River Provincial Park lies about 74 km north of The Pas via PTH 10 and PTH 39, with Gyles - Grass River Provincial Park on Simonhouse Lake and Iskwasum - Grass River Provincial Park on the Grass River between Loucks and Iskwasum lakes. Bakers Narrows Provincial Park, on Lake Athapapuskow south of Flin Flon, is the farthest of the group but a common stop for anglers heading north.

All provincial park campsites in the area are booked through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service online or by phone, and an online account is required. Reservations can also be made in person at the Winnipeg office, and sites can be reserved up to the day of arrival. Manitoba opens bookings in phases each spring, generally in April, with different opening dates for yurts and cabins and separate dates for northern campgrounds such as Bakers Narrows. Popular sites and yurts often go within the first hours of each phase. A limited number of seasonal sites at Campers Cove and Pioneer Bay are awarded by lottery, with applications due in February. All campers must also carry a valid Manitoba Parks vehicle permit.
