We visited Fundy national park, had a great time. Rv was clean , many features, toys for kids, for any question the hosts were replying quickly. They were flexible about dropping off the tv. Appreciated.

We had a wonderful experience with this camper rental! As a family of three, we had plenty of room to spare. I was able to store all of our food in the pantry and fridge with space left over, which worked perfectly for our four-day trip. Both the heater and air conditioner worked great, keeping us comfortable throughout. If you’re traveling with a toddler in a pack ’n play, it fits perfectly in one of the tent ends once you remove the mattress. Set-up and take-down were straightforward and quick, even with unpacking and repacking food and bags. Check-in and return were smooth and easy. All of the directions you need are posted inside the camper, which was super convenient. One tip: bring a few extra-thick blankets. The nights were chilly, and while the heater kept us cozy (especially with a little one), two adults alone would probably be fine with just some extra blankets. The tent end beside the bathroom doesn’t get quite as much heat due to the wall blocking airflow, but that’s more of a small observation than a drawback. Host was fantastic, very friendly, helpful, and kind during both pick-up and drop-off. We’d happily rent from them again!

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Devon, New Brunswick?

Good news: a regular Class 5 driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Devon for the vast majority of motorhomes and travel trailers on RVezy. New Brunswick allows standard Class 5 licence holders to operate most motorhomes and tow most travel trailers and fifth wheels you will find on the platform. Approved renters are generally 25 or older, and identity is confirmed right inside the RVezy app, so there is no paperwork to chase. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home driver's license (an International Driving Permit is recommended if your licence is not in English or French) and you are set to roll.

Is my RV rental in Devon protected if something goes wrong?

Yes, every RV rental in Devon booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the Trans-Canada Highway with real peace of mind. The protection plan helps cover damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose your preferred coverage level during checkout (not the host), so you stay in control of how much protection you want. Roadside assistance is included for situations like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and tows. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around photo set at pickup in the host's driveway, and you will have a smooth, stress-free trip start to finish.

What happens if I need to cancel my Devon RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform (not individual hosts), which includes a money-back grace period after you book so you can lock in your Devon dates with confidence. If your plans change, the refund amount factors in how far out you are from your trip start date, and the RVezy support team is available to help review your situation if a host cancels or a major disruption occurs. Pro tip: book early to secure the best Devon motorhomes for summer festival weekends like the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival, knowing you have flexibility built in if your plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a Devon RV trip?

Absolutely, plenty of hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Devon, and finding one is as simple as toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Once you're on the road, your pup will love New Brunswick: leashed dogs are welcome on the trails at Mactaquac Provincial Park (just 25 km west), and the Lincoln Riverfront Park and Killarney Lake Park in Fredericton are great for stretching four legs after a drive. Most pet-friendly hosts ask you to keep pets off the furniture and clean up before drop-off, which keeps cleaning fees at zero. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm and ask about any small extra cleaning fee for pets.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite or driveway in Devon?

Yes, RV delivery in Devon is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip driving a big rig through downtown Fredericton. Many Devon and greater Fredericton hosts will deliver, level, and set up your motorhome rental at your chosen spot, whether that is Hartt Island RV Resort, Mactaquac Provincial Park, or even a friend's cottage on the Saint John River. They will also walk you through every system on arrival. Delivery fees are set by each host based on distance and RV size. When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Devon, NB?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Devon runs from late May through mid-October, with July and August serving up the warmest weather (highs around 26°C / 79°F) and the longest daylight along the Saint John River. Late September into early October is a local insider favourite, when the maple, birch, and oak along the Wolastoq explode into red and gold and campground rates drop. Most NB Parks campgrounds, including Mactaquac, open in late May and close around mid-October. Pro tip: book around the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival in mid-September for warm days, cool nights, and one of Atlantic Canada's best music weekends.

Can I rent an RV in Devon during winter?

Yes, winter RV rentals in Devon are absolutely an option for the adventurous, and they're a uniquely New Brunswick experience. January temperatures around Fredericton average about -9°C (16°F) with roughly 215 cm of snowfall each year, so winter rentals are typically used as warm basecamps with shore power at sites like Mactaquac Provincial Park, which stays open year-round for sledding, skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Look for listings noted as four-season with heated holding tanks, propane furnace, and a generator. Pro tip: ask your host about plugging in to a 30-amp outlet at your destination so you can keep tanks from freezing and run heat all night long.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I get help in Devon?

You're in great hands, first time renting an RV in Devon is easier than most people expect. Many Devon hosts even text or call mid-trip to check in, and you can message them anytime through the app. RVezy's 24/7 support team is also a tap away. Pro tip: choose a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan for your first trip, then practice a few turns in a quiet parking lot like the Willie O'Ree Place lot before heading out to Mactaquac.

Can I take my Devon RV rental across the border into the U.S. or Quebec?

Cross-province travel from Devon is straightforward, and many hosts allow trips into Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI, and into Maine and New England with advance approval. Message the host directly from the listing page before booking to confirm cross-border permission, since insurance arrangements need to be verified for U.S. travel. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals. Popular routes from Devon include the drive west into coastal Maine via the Houlton-Woodstock border crossing (about 1.5 hours to the border), and the scenic push north to Edmundston and into Quebec's Bas-Saint-Laurent. Pro tip: ask about U.S. coverage well in advance so your host can update insurance details before you travel.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Devon RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easier things to budget for in New Brunswick because the province sets a maximum weekly gasoline price through the NB Energy and Utilities Board, so you know what you are paying before you fill up. Recent maximums have hovered around $1.50 to $1.80 per litre for regular self-serve, with diesel typically a bit higher. Class C motorhomes average 18-22 L/100km, while smaller campervans can hit 12-14 L/100km. For a 1,000 km Devon road trip in a Class C, plan roughly $350-400 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up at Costco or major-brand stations on Riverside Drive before leaving Fredericton for the lowest local prices.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Devon?

For peak summer weekends near Devon, book your campsites as soon as reservations open. NB Parks nightly reservations for Mactaquac and other provincial parks open in early February at 9 a.m. AST through the official parcsnbparks.ca system, and prime riverside sites at Mactaquac sell out within hours for July and August weekends. Hartt Island RV Resort and River Run Resort take reservations directly through their websites and Campspot. For weekdays and shoulder season (June, September), 2-4 weeks ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: if Mactaquac is full, try Woolastook Park or Heritage Country Camping nearby, both still put you right on the Saint John River with great access to Fredericton.

What are the local driving conditions like around Devon and Fredericton?

Driving an RV around Devon is refreshingly low-stress compared to most Canadian capitals, traffic is light, roads are wide, and you're a quick hop from open highway. The Westmorland Street Bridge connects Devon's north side to downtown Fredericton, and the Princess Margaret Bridge handles Route 8 traffic; both are RV-friendly with normal clearances. Watch for moose and white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk along Route 8 toward Miramichi and on rural roads near Mactaquac. Winter brings snow and occasional freezing rain from November through early April, so stick to summer and shoulder-season trips if you're new to RVing. Pro tip: avoid the 4:30-5:30 p.m. weekday rush on the Westmorland Street Bridge.

Mactaquac Provincial Park has 303 sites with 235 electrical, 97 pull-thrus, and an on-site dump station. River Run Resort has full hookups, a pool, and a boat launch. Most campgrounds offer potable water fills and dump stations included for paid guests. Pro tip: the public dump station at Mactaquac is one of the easiest in the region to use, and you can top up freshwater at the same stop before heading home.

What's included inside a typical campervan or motorhome rental in Devon?

Most motorhome rentals in Devon come fully equipped so you can move in and go. Expect a queen or full-size bed (plus convertible dinette or bunk beds in family rigs), a kitchen with fridge, propane stove, microwave, sink, and cookware, a bathroom with toilet and shower, a furnace and roof A/C, and a propane or onboard generator for off-grid power. Many Devon hosts also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, camp chairs, and a BBQ. Wi-Fi varies: cell-based hotspots work well around Fredericton and Mactaquac but get patchy in rural areas. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list and confirm seatbelt count if you are travelling with kids, since seat capacity and sleep capacity are not always the same.

What add-ons and pickup options are available with a Devon RV rental?

Devon hosts offer plenty of add-ons to make your trip easier. Popular extras include bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs and tables, BBQs and propane, bike racks, generators, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Many hosts also offer delivery (priced per km from their location) and on-site setup at your campground. Mileage policies vary: some offer unlimited kilometres, others a daily allotment (commonly 100-200 km/day) plus a small per-km fee after that. Pro tip: if you are doing a big loop like Devon to Cape Breton and back, filter for unlimited-mileage listings or message the host to discuss a higher allotment before booking.

How does payment and the security deposit work for a Devon RV rental?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy's platform with a credit card at the time of booking, and the host is paid out after your trip begins so both you and the host are protected. A refundable security deposit (typically $500-$1,500 depending on the RV) is held separately from your booking payment and released after drop-off, assuming the RV comes back in the same condition. To avoid any deposit issues, take time-stamped photos at pickup and drop-off, return the rig with the agreed fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if your host requests it. Pro tip: ask your Devon host about cleaning expectations during your walkthrough to avoid any surprise charges.
