Campgrounds and RV parks near Belfast, ME

Belfast's harbor walk, footbridge, and downtown shops sit within a few blocks of the water. Boat tours, kayak rentals, and lobster shacks operate through the warm months, and the Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad runs seasonal excursions. Camden Hills State Park is the region's main hiking destination. Mount Battie can be reached on foot or by the auto road, and the summit gives a broad view of Camden Harbor, Penobscot Bay, and inland lakes and rivers. Mount Megunticook offers a longer climb, and the park maintains about 30 miles of trails with access from five main trailheads. Camden Hills State Park sites are mostly wooded with some privacy. The campground has flush toilets, hot showers, potable water, a dump station, and a playground, and firewood is sold on site. Sewer hookups are not available. Out-of-state firewood is restricted at Maine campgrounds, so plan to buy locally. Cell coverage is generally reliable along Route 1. Wi-Fi is offered at most parks but can be slow, especially at wooded state park sites.
