Middle Thompson Lake is part of the Thompson Chain-of-Lakes, a 20-mile stretch of pristine water and recreation nestled in western Montana, 35–55 miles west of Kalispell along Highway 2. This scenic destination encompasses shoreline access to 18 interconnected lakes, each offering excellent fishing opportunities for brook trout, lake trout, northern pike, rainbow trout, black crappie, and other fish species. The area provides 91 campsites across its span, with Logan State Park on Middle Thompson Lake offering 22 developed campsites suitable for RV camping. Additional primitive campsites are available throughout the chain. Visitors enjoy comprehensive facilities including concrete boat ramps at five locations, latrines, and public restrooms. Beyond fishing, the lakes support diverse recreational activities including boating, swimming, water skiing, canoeing, wildlife viewing, photography, and bird watching.
