I took my 16 year old son and 2 adult friends to there first NFL game and to watch our Oilers in Seattle in late November. Dave's RV was the perfect accommodation for the 3 days! What was awesome was the communication with Dave prior to the rental. He answered all questions and concerns in a timely fashion. In this day and age where customer service seems to be almost no existent Dave went above and beyond. Dave went through the pre trip check with me and my son and that interaction showed he cared about us having a positive experience. With any type of rental things could go wrong, nothing did for us, but I felt reassured Dave would be there if anything did, peace of mind! RV was just what we needed for this trip. Thanks again Dave!!

Chris was really great to work with! He's very personable, responsive, helpful, and flexible. He was willing to move around our pick-up to better suit our needs, within his abilities. This was greatly appreciated. He offered to give us a ride to the light rail after returning the RV. And he had great suggestions for us during our trip that helped save us time and money. We had a great time on our first RV adventure in his RV, "Miles of Smiles". Vehicle AC is being fixed, it didn't bother us. Camper AC worked great on the generator or electric hookup. We couldn't get the shower water heater to work, but we preferred the campground showers anyways. Everything else worked great on the RV. Lots of fridge/freezer space. Stove and microwave worked well as well as the propane grill if you encounter a burn ban. LOVED the Space you got with the slide out, the awning was really fun, the bunk above the cab was loved by our kids, the TV/DVD was needed at the end of a long day!, and all the storage was excellent. This was very comfortable and enjoyable ride for our 4 day adventure in Olympic and the North Cascades! Thanks so much Chris. We appreciate you!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Sultan, WA

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Sultan, WA?

RV rental in Sultan, WA is surprisingly affordable, especially compared to renting from a Seattle-based commercial agency. On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $275 per night, and larger Class A rigs run $250 to $400. You'll see lower rates from October through April outside of ski-season weekends, when demand for Stevens Pass trips drops. To score a cheap RV rental in Sultan, book midweek, travel during shoulder season, and use the price filter to compare similar listings. Pro tip: many Sky Valley hosts offer multi-night discounts after three nights, so a long weekend along Highway 2 often costs less per night than a quick one-nighter.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Sultan, Washington?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Sultan, WA. Washington State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal recreational vehicles, even larger Class A motorhomes you might take up over Stevens Pass. The only requirement on RVezy is that the primary driver be at least 25 years old with a valid license, which we verify quickly through the platform during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. Once that's done, you're cleared to roll east on US 2 toward Leavenworth or west into Seattle.

What protection is included with my Sultan RV rental?

Every RV rental in Sultan, WA booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can head up Highway 2 toward Stevens Pass with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level during checkout (not the host), and the plan covers damage to the RV during your trip up to the limits of the tier you select. Roadside assistance handles tows, flat tires, lockouts, jump-starts, and fuel delivery if something unexpected happens, whether that's a rock chip on Sultan Basin Road or a fender bump at a busy Wallace Falls trailhead. Pick the tier that matches your comfort level and the rest of your Sky Valley trip is about waterfalls, not worry.

What if I need to cancel my Sultan RV trip?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every reservation (not individual hosts), and there is a grace period after booking where you can get a full refund. Beyond that, your refund depends on how far out from your trip start date you cancel. You'll see the exact terms before you confirm payment, and the RVezy support team is available if plans shift due to events like wildfire smoke or a Stevens Pass storm. Reach out early if you need to change dates, since hosts can often help reschedule rather than cancel outright.

Can I bring my dog on a Sultan RV rental?

Yes, a pet-friendly RV rental in Sultan, WA is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see listings from Sky Valley hosts who welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Hosts set their own pet rules and any cleaning fees, so message them through the listing if you have a large breed or more than one pup. Sultan is great for dog lovers: Osprey Park is right in town along the river, the Skykomish River has dog-friendly swimming holes near Gold Bar, and Wallace Falls State Park allows leashed dogs on trail. Pack a towel, because muddy paws are a guarantee in the Pacific Northwest.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or rental property in Sultan?

Yes, RV delivery in Sultan is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters who don't want to drive a 30-foot motorhome through downtown Seattle traffic before heading up Highway 2. Many Sky Valley hosts will deliver and set up the RV directly at Wallace Falls State Park, Money Creek Campground, your private property, or even a riverside spot near Gold Bar. Delivery fees are usually based on distance from the host's location, and the host handles leveling, hookups, and a full walkthrough on arrival. Filter for Delivery on the search page, message the host with your destination, and you'll have a fully set-up rig waiting when you arrive.

How far can I travel on an RV rental from Sultan, WA?

Sultan is well-positioned for an RV road trip from Sultan, WA in nearly any direction. Stevens Pass ski area is about 35 miles east on US 2, Leavenworth is roughly 65 miles east (around 1.5 hours), Seattle is about 40 miles southwest, Mount Rainier National Park is around 130 miles south, and the North Cascades National Park entrance at Marblemount is about 90 miles north. Each host sets their own mileage policy, and you'll often find listings with generous daily allowances or RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer adventures. Check the mileage section on the listing and message the host directly if you're planning a multi-state loop through Oregon or Idaho.

Where are the best campgrounds near Sultan, WA?

Some of the best campgrounds near Sultan, WA are within a 30-minute drive of town. Wallace Falls State Park in Gold Bar (about 7 miles east) is famous for its 265-foot waterfall and has walk-in tent sites plus a few small vehicle sites. Money Creek Campground in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest sits along the Skykomish River with sites suitable for smaller RVs. Beckler River Campground near Skykomish offers shaded riverside spots ideal for fishing. For full hookups, private parks just outside Sultan and in Monroe provide pull-through sites with electric, water, and sewer. Wenatchee River County Park, about an hour east near Leavenworth, is a great option if you're crossing Stevens Pass. Book Washington State Parks up to nine months ahead through the official reservation system.

When is the best time of year for RV camping in Sultan?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Sultan is late June through September, when daytime temperatures average a comfortable 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the Skykomish River is warm enough for swimming, and Stevens Pass is open with hiking and mountain biking. May and early October bring cooler 55 to 65 degree days, fewer crowds, and waterfalls running at full force from snowmelt or fall rains. Winter (November through March) is genuinely magical here: Sultan sits at the gateway to Stevens Pass ski area, and a winter campervan rental in Sultan with proper cold-weather gear is a fantastic basecamp for skiers. Expect rain year-round, since the Sky Valley averages over 70 inches of precipitation annually, so pack layers and rain gear.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be able to handle it?

You've got this. If it's your first time renting an RV, Sultan is one of the friendliest places in Washington to start, because most hosts here are experienced outdoor folks who give a thorough walkthrough at pickup, covering everything from leveling to the propane stove. Many also send a video orientation in advance. Highway 2 east of Sultan is a well-maintained two-lane road with gradual climbs, so you can build confidence before tackling Stevens Pass. Choose a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan for your first trip, ask the host to demonstrate the awning and slide-outs, and remember you can message your host anytime during the trip. The 24/7 roadside assistance included with every RVezy booking is there if you need it.

What happens if I have a breakdown or emergency on Highway 2?

You're never alone out there. Every RV rental in Sultan, WA booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance, covering tows, jump-starts, flat tires, lockouts, and fuel delivery. If something goes wrong on US 2 between Sultan and Stevens Pass, call the roadside line first, then message your host so they can help troubleshoot remotely. Cell service is generally solid through Sultan, Gold Bar, and Skykomish but can drop in pockets near Money Creek and beyond Stevens Pass summit, so download offline maps before you leave. EvergreenHealth Monroe is about 12 miles west on US 2 for any medical needs. RVezy customer support is also available if you need extra help.

Can I take my Sultan RV rental into Canada or other states?

Cross-border road trips from Sultan are possible with the right planning. Many hosts allow travel throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and into British Columbia, since Sultan is only about 110 miles south of the Sumas border crossing. Canada-bound travel requires host approval and confirmation that your RVezy protection covers cross-border use, so message the host directly before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Popular interstate routes include Sultan to Glacier National Park (about 500 miles east via US 2), Sultan to the Oregon Coast (around 350 miles south), and the full Cascade Loop scenic byway. Bring your passport for any Canadian crossing.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validity

What kind of fuel mileage should I expect and how do I budget for gas?

Plan your fuel budget realistically: Class B campervans get around 18 to 22 miles per gallon, Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A motorhomes can dip to 6 to 9 MPG, especially climbing Stevens Pass. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle, usually 10 to 14 MPG. Regular gas in the Sultan area runs roughly $4.20 to $4.80 per gallon (Washington has higher fuel taxes than most states), with cheaper prices at the Monroe Costco 10 miles west if you're a member. For a typical 4-day, 300-mile RV camping Sultan trip in a Class C, budget about $150 to $200 for fuel. Top off in Sultan or Monroe before heading east, since gas stations get sparse past Gold Bar.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Sultan?

Book early for the best spots, especially in summer. Washington State Parks like Wallace Falls open reservations exactly nine months ahead through the official Washington State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends fill within minutes of release. National Forest campgrounds like Money Creek and Beckler River are bookable through Recreation.gov six months in advance, and they fill quickly for July and August Fridays. Private RV parks like Cascades RV Resort often have more midweek availability and accept bookings closer to your dates. Pro tip for a family RV trip Sultan visit: aim for a Sunday-through-Thursday window, set a Recreation.gov reservation alert, and have a backup plan at Lake Wenatchee State Park, 60 miles east over Stevens Pass.
recreation.gov/camping/gateways/2725

What are the local driving conditions like around Sultan?

Driving conditions around Sultan are very RV-friendly compared to mountain destinations. US 2 through downtown Sultan is a two-lane highway carrying around 20,000 vehicles per day, with new roundabouts replacing older intersections and traffic that can back up on summer Sunday afternoons returning from Stevens Pass. East of Gold Bar, the highway begins gradual mountain climbs with no significant grades over 6 percent up to Stevens Pass summit (4,061 feet). In winter, traction tires or chains may be required east of Skykomish; check WSDOT pass conditions before you leave. Avoid Sultan Basin Road's gravel sections in larger Class A rigs. Plan to drive over Stevens Pass before 10 a.m. on summer weekends to dodge the worst congestion.
wsdot.wa.gov/travel/real-time/mountainpasses/stevens

What amenities do campgrounds near Sultan offer for RVs?

Campground amenities near Sultan vary nicely so you can match your style. Cascades RV Resort and other private parks along US 2 offer full hookups (water, electric 30/50 amp, and sewer), Wi-Fi, hot showers, and laundry. Washington State Parks like Wallace Falls have potable water and restrooms but limited RV hookups, so plan to use your onboard tanks. National Forest sites like Money Creek and Beckler River are more rustic with vault toilets and drinking water but no hookups, perfect for boondocking practice. The closest RV dump stations are at Lewis Street Park in Monroe (free for paying visitors) and Wenatchee River County Park east of Stevens Pass. Fill fresh water in Sultan before heading deeper into the Cascades.

What's actually inside an RV I'd rent in Sultan?

Sultan RV rentals come well-equipped for Pacific Northwest adventures. Expect a full kitchen with a propane stove, microwave, refrigerator, and sink; a bathroom with a toilet and shower; sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on the RV; heating and air conditioning; and a dinette that often converts to extra sleeping space. Most Class C motorhome rentals and travel trailers include outdoor awnings, leveling jacks, seatbelts for travel, and basic kitchen supplies like pots and dishes. Many hosts also offer generators (essential for boondocking near Skykomish), backup cameras, and onboard fresh water tanks of 30 to 80 gallons. Wi-Fi and TVs vary by listing, so check the amenities section. For a Stevens Pass winter trip, confirm the RV has a propane furnace and insulated tanks.
dol.wa.gov/vehicles-and-boats/vehicle-registration/recreational-and-camp-vehicles

What add-ons and extras can I get with my Sultan RV rental?

Hosts in the Sky Valley offer creative add-ons that make your trip easier. Common extras include camping chairs and tables, bedding and linens packages, kitchen kits, bike racks, kayaks (great for Lake Wenatchee or Spada Lake), portable generators, propane tank pre-fills, Wi-Fi hotspots, and snow chains for Stevens Pass winter trips. Delivery and setup, dump-and-fill services, and late returns are also popular add-ons, with fees set by each host. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Sultan, Gold Bar, Monroe, or Snohomish, with a 30 to 60 minute orientation included. Mileage policies vary, so look for listings with unlimited mileage or generous daily allowances if you're planning the full 89-mile Stevens Pass Greenway loop.
sultanwa.gov/424/Improving-US-2-Through-Sultan

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment for your motorhome rental Sultan reservation is handled securely through the RVezy platform, never directly with the host. You pay a portion at booking to confirm your trip, and the balance is charged automatically before pickup. A refundable security deposit is placed as a separate hold on your card around the time of your trip start, and as long as the RV comes back in the same condition with no traffic violations, the hold is released after your trip ends. To avoid issues, take time-stamped photos of the RV inside and out at pickup and drop-off, follow the host's fuel and dump-station instructions, and report any concerns through RVezy messaging so there's a clear record.

Any insider tips for an unforgettable Sultan RV trip?

Here's the local move most visitors miss: stop at Sultan Bakery on US 2 (open early) for fresh donuts and a giant breakfast sandwich before hitting the road, then drive 13 miles up Sultan Basin Road to the Olney Pass kiosk and register (free) for access to the Spada Lake recreation area, a stunning reservoir most Seattle tourists never see. Time your visit to coincide with the Sultan Shindig in July (parade, fireworks, logging competition) or the Return of the Salmon Celebration at Osprey Park in late September on odd-numbered years, when 600,000 pink salmon spawn in the Snohomish River System. Pack a Discover Pass ($35 annual or $11.50 daily) for any Washington State Park stop, since rangers do check.
