Late April through early June and September through October are the best months for RV travel to Arrow Rock, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and comfortable touring weather for the historic village. Summer brings warm, humid conditions and the most programming, including the Lyceum Theatre season and the annual heritage festival, so reservations fill faster. Winter visits are possible but cold, with reduced site services and shorter daylight hours. Shoulder seasons offer the quietest campground atmosphere and easiest access to walking tours.

Arrow Rock State Historic Site, MO, United States
The historic site and village are about 45 miles west of Columbia, Missouri. From Kansas City it is roughly 100 miles east via I-70 to Exit 98, then north on MO-41, and from St. Louis it is about 150 miles west on I-70. The final approach on MO-41 is a two-lane rural highway with gentle terrain and no tunnels or steep grades, making it straightforward for larger RVs, though drivers should watch for narrow shoulders and tight turns within the historic village itself. Columbia Regional Airport (COU) is the closest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers, with Kansas City International (MCI) and St. Louis Lambert (STL) as larger alternatives.
