Best time to visit Barton Warnock Visitor Center

The best months to visit are November through March, when daytime highs are pleasant and nights are cool but rarely freezing. Spring break in March brings peak crowds, so early November and February are ideal shoulder periods for quieter roads and campground availability. Summer, from June through August, is hot with daytime highs often exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hard on RV cooling systems and pets. Fall offers stable weather and excellent night skies in this dark-sky region.
