Late spring through early fall, roughly May to September, offers the driest weather and the warmest daytime temperatures for beach walks and tide pooling. July and August bring the biggest crowds, so reservations should be made months ahead for full-hookup RV sites. Shoulder seasons in April and October are quieter and still good for whale watching, though wind and rain become more common. Winter camping is possible year-round but expect frequent storms, short days, and wet sites.

The long sandy beach at Beverly Beach is a classic Oregon coast destination for walking, shell collecting, and agate hunting after winter storms. A pedestrian tunnel under US-101 leads directly from the campground to the beach, so RVers can walk over without moving the rig.
Devils Punch Bowl is a hollow rock formation just north of the park where incoming surf churns dramatically at high tide. The day-use area has paved parking that accommodates most RVs and short overlook trails suitable for all ages.
Yaquina Head is a BLM-managed headland about 10 minutes south with Oregon's tallest lighthouse, tide pools, and seabird colonies. The visitor center has designated RV parking and interpretive exhibits. blm.gov/
Otter Rock Marine Garden protects one of the coast's richest tide pool zones, with sea stars, anemones, and urchins visible at low tide. Park at the Devils Punch Bowl lot and walk down the stairs to the reef at minus tides.
Gray whales pass the central Oregon coast twice a year, with peak migration in late December and again in late March. Nearby Cape Foulweather and Yaquina Head are among the best viewpoints, and Oregon State Parks hosts Whale Watch Week volunteers at staffed sites.
A short interpretive trail follows Spencer Creek through the campground's old-growth spruce and alder forest. It is a good leg-stretcher after a long drive and is accessible from most camping loops.
Newport sits about 15 minutes south and offers the working Bayfront, the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and Hatfield Marine Science Center. The aquarium has a large paved lot suitable for RVs and tow vehicles.

Beverly Beach State Park, OR, United States
The park is directly off US Highway 101, about 7 miles north of Newport, roughly 135 miles (2.5 to 3 hours) southwest of Portland via OR-18 and US-101, and about 85 miles west of Salem via OR-22 and US-101. RVers should plan for slow, winding stretches on OR-18 and OR-22, coastal fog, and limited passing lanes on US-101. There are no tunnels with strict RV limits on the direct approach, but the older Highway 101 bridges have narrow shoulders, and crosswinds along the coast can affect tall rigs. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent trips is Portland International Airport (PDX); Eugene (EUG) is a similar drive of about 90 miles.
