Late September through late October is the headline season, when the oak, maple, and tulip poplar canopy turns vivid and draws peak crowds to overlooks like Hesitation Point. Fall color in southern Indiana normally begins in mid to late September and peaks the second or third week of October. Late spring and early summer bring wildflowers, greener trails, and easier campground reservations, while winter visits are quiet but colder with limited services. RV renters seeking milder weather and fewer weekend lines should target May, early June, and early September.

Hesitation Point is one of the park's best-known vistas, offering a sweeping view of forested ridges that is especially striking in fall. The overlook is accessible by vehicle with parking suitable for smaller RVs and tow vehicles.
Ogle Lake Trail is a roughly 1.5-mile loop around a quiet, no-wake lake tucked into a wooded valley. The mostly level path is a favorite family hike with a paved trailhead lot that accommodates vehicles with larger wheelbases.
Brown County State Park is a premier Midwest mountain biking destination with roughly 30 miles of singletrack ranging from beginner loops to technical black-diamond lines. The main trailhead has dedicated parking for vehicles with bike racks.
Trail 10 is a rugged ridge-and-ravine hike that rewards walkers with solitude and long views. Expect steep climbs and stream crossings that make sturdy footwear essential.
The park's horsemen's area connects to an extensive bridle trail network used by private riders and guided trail rides. The D Trail connector ties trails on Brown County State Park and Yellowwood State Forest to the Hoosier National Forest, allowing riders to link several loops across public lands.
The park's nature center interprets local wildlife, forest ecology, and the Civilian Conservation Corps history that shaped the park's stone gatehouses, shelters, and fire tower. It is a short drive from the main campgrounds with accessible parking.
A seasonal outdoor aquatic center with a main pool, slides, and splash features operates during summer months near the campground loops. It offers a cool-off option within walking or short-driving distance of most RV sites.
It was a smooth and easy process! Delivery went well, took the time to set everything up, made sure in the perfect spot and leveled. The RV is great!

Danielle and Grant were great to work with. The delivery was on time. Grant provided an overview to make sure we were good. The RV has plenty of space for our family of four and two dogs. We would recommend to either add some coffee cups and bowls, but other than that, we enjoyed the RV very much. Great overall experience, would definitely book again!

Brown County State Park, IN, United States
The park sits about 50 miles south of Indianapolis, roughly a one-hour drive via SR 135 or US 31 and SR 46 through Nashville. Bloomington is about 20 miles west, and Louisville, Kentucky is about two hours south via I-65. The Hoosier National Forest region is within a 2-hour drive of Cincinnati, Evansville, Indianapolis, and Louisville. RV drivers should note the park's winding interior roads, a historic covered bridge at the North Entrance with a posted low clearance that larger rigs must avoid by using the West Gate or Horsemen's Gate instead, and steep grades on some ridge roads. Indianapolis International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips.
