Late May through early October is the best window for RV travel, when the campground, beach, and marina are in full seasonal operation and lake temperatures are comfortable for swimming and boating. July and August bring the warmest weather and the highest demand for campsites, so reservations are recommended well in advance. Spring and fall shoulder seasons offer cooler nights, lower humidity, and good fishing, though some amenities operate on reduced hours. Winter stays are possible for self-contained RVs since the park remains open, but expect limited services and cold, often damp conditions.

Deer Creek Lake is a roughly 1,277-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir with unlimited-horsepower boating and popular fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, saugeye, and catfish. Multiple public boat ramps and a marina serve trailer boaters. RV-friendly parking is available at the main ramp lots.
The state park campground offers electric sites, a dump station, showerhouses, and direct access to the beach and trail network. Sites are laid out in loops through open woodland, with pull-through options suitable for larger rigs.
The park's guarded-season public beach stretches along the lake with picnic areas and changing facilities nearby. It is a short drive from the campground with dedicated day-use parking.
Adena Trace is the park's main multi-mile hiking route, winding through woodland, meadow, and ravines between the lodge area and the campground. It provides an accessible introduction to the park's terrain and wildlife.
The park operates an 18-hole public golf course with a pro shop and practice facilities near the lodge. Large paved lots accommodate day-use vehicles including tow vehicles unhitched from RVs.
Several day-use picnic areas with shelters, tables, and grills are spread along the lake shoreline. Most include large parking lots that work well for RVs and tow vehicles.
The park and surrounding Deer Creek Wildlife Area are known for white-tailed deer, wild turkey, waterfowl, and migrating songbirds. Quiet early mornings along the lake and meadows produce the best sightings.
Was a quick 3 day weekend. It couldn’t have been easier. Mark was very accessible and helpful. Would definitely recommend renting from him.

Mark was easy to work with, and Ruby was a great way for us to put our toes in the RV world.

We loved this pop-up trailer! Found this trailer through a search. I don’t think we could have found a better person to rent from for our first RVezy trip. Stephen was very helpful and speedy in his communication. Everything worked great. AC was a beast and handled Texas heat no problem. The heater worked great for the cold nights in Louisville. Stephen helped us get on our way with a bag of tools and practically everything we needed. We towed this thing with our 2015 Honda Odyssey. I would absolutely recommend renting this trailer from Stephen.

The Adkins Family pop-up was just what we needed to get outta town and unplug. Stephen did a great job showing us how to set it up and take it down. The pop-up was stocked with cooking supplies and full on propane when we picked it up. It travelled well on the road and was a perfect for for a family of 4. Stephen was a great host and communicated quickly before and throughout the trip. We would definitely consider renting again.

Deer Creek State Park, OH, United States
Deer Creek State Park sits about 30 miles (roughly a 45-minute drive) southwest of Columbus via US-62 and Ohio State Route 207, and about 90 miles (about 1 hour 45 minutes) northeast of Cincinnati via I-71 and US-35. The terrain is flat to gently rolling with no mountain passes, tunnels, or steep grades, making the approach straightforward for any RV class. Final park-access roads are rural two-lane highways, so watch for farm equipment, tight shoulders, and low-clearance rural bridges on alternate routes. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), approximately 40 miles northeast of the park.
