Late June through early September is the prime window, when the park is staffed, the beach is open, and daytime highs are warm enough for swimming. July and August bring the busiest weekends, so weekday visits are easier for parking larger rigs. Shoulder months like June and September offer cooler, quieter conditions, though some facilities may be reduced. The park is typically closed or unserviced in winter.

Falls Lake offers a freshwater swimming area that is the park's main summer draw. The beach is unsupervised, so visitors swim at their own risk.
The day-use area includes picnic tables set among trees along the lakeshore. It is a convenient roadside stop for RV travelers moving between Halifax and the Annapolis Valley.
Falls Lake is suitable for canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards launched from the shoreline. There is no developed boat ramp, so hand-carry craft are best.
Anglers can cast from shore or a small boat for species common to inland Nova Scotia lakes. A valid provincial fishing licence is required.
The town of Windsor sits about 20 minutes west and offers Bay of Fundy tidal viewpoints, historic sites, and supply stops. It pairs well with a Falls Lake picnic stop.
Several wineries and farm markets lie within an hour's drive west along Highway 101. RVers can turn Falls Lake into a stop on a longer valley touring loop.
The mixed Acadian forest around the lake supports songbirds, waterfowl, and small mammals. Visitors often spot wildlife from the picnic area or along the shoreline.
Camper van was absolutely amazing. Comfortable bed, tons of light, fridge, water and everything you could possibly need! Gas wasn’t much more than an suv would be. Dean is a fantastic guy and made we knew everything about the van before heading out and was great dealing with little hiccups along the way. Would recommend this way of travel (and renting through Dean) to anyone!

The experience with the RV was fantastic, dealing with Dean was great and he was very helpful. I would definitely take a trip like this again!

Caroline and her husband were wonderful hosts! They took the time to get us up to speed on their van, and point out what we needed to know. The van came well equipped with stove, camping chairs and even an awning! We great enjoyed our trip in their van!

We were looking for the ability to be flexible on our trip and this met all the requirements! It was a fabulous way to travel! I would highly recommend using Caroline's camper van to anyone!

Falls Lake Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park lies just off Highway 101 in central Nova Scotia, roughly a 45 to 60 minute drive west of Halifax and about 20 minutes east of Windsor. Travelers flying in can rent an RV near Halifax Stanfield International Airport, the closest major airport, and follow Highway 101 west. The approach is straightforward on paved provincial highways, with no mountain passes or tunnels, though the final access road is a narrow rural route, so drivers of long rigs should proceed with caution when turning into the day-use lot.
