Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest weather and the calmest sea conditions for the boat or kayak crossing from Lasqueti Island. July and August bring peak visitation from boaters and paddlers, so secluded anchorages and tent sites fill quickly on weekends. May, June, and September are excellent shoulder months with lighter traffic, though water temperatures remain cool and weather windows shorten. Winter visits are possible since the park is open year-round, but storms, wind, and short daylight make crossings unsuitable for most RV travelers.
Park open year-round, but winter storms make crossings unsafe for most visitors.

Paddling is the signature activity at Jedediah Island Marine Park. Paddlers set in on Lasqueti Island and tour the chain of more than 30 islands and rocky islets surrounding Jedediah, camping in secluded coves along the way. bcparks.ca/jedediah-island-marine-park/
Jedediah offers rustic backcountry camping in a remote island setting. Sites are accessed by boat or kayak, with payment handled through the BC Parks Backcountry Registration System. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/jedediah_is/
Approximately 3.5 kilometres of walking trails cross Jedediah Island and connect its secluded bays. One main trail leads through old-growth forest to an open meadow and links with trails on the far side. bcparks.ca/jedediah-island-marine-park/
Jedediah offers five secluded bays for safe harbour, making it a longtime favourite of recreational boaters in the Strait of Georgia. Deep anchorages and rocky coves surround the island. bcparks.ca/recreation/marine_parks/
The sandy bays on the northeast side of the park offer pleasant swimming opportunities in summer. There is no designated swimming area and no lifeguards. bcparks.ca/jedediah-island-marine-park/
Fishing is permitted in accordance with provincial and federal regulations, and a valid BC licence is required. Rockfish Conservation Areas occur within the park and restrict certain fishing activities. bcparks.ca/jedediah-island-marine-park/
Bald eagles are resident on Jedediah year-round and osprey are a regular seasonal visitor. Marine birds including cormorants, glaucous-winged gulls, black oystercatchers, kingfishers, and pigeon guillemots nest or feed around the island. bcparks.ca/planning/mgmtplns/jedediah/jedmp/jed002.html
The island's interior supports forest ecosystems with mature Douglas fir and arbutus intermingled with rocky outcrops. Evidence of previous human settlements can be seen in several areas. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/jedediah_is/

We loved our trip up Vancouver Island, and across to Quadra and Cortes islands too. Having an RV , along with our bikes (we brought our hitch bike rack), meant we had a lot of flexibility. Our little dogs had a blast too. At the pickup, Jessica explained how everything worked, and urged us to reach out with any questions during our trip. When we did have a question, she was very quick to respond. Returning the RV was also very easy, and Jessica was flexible with the time. She appreciated that we returned the RV clean. Would absolutely recommend Jessica and her RV to anyone considering a trip on Vancouver Island.

Jedediah Island Marine Provincial Park, BC, Canada
RV travelers cannot drive to Jedediah Island. The usual staging point is French Creek on Vancouver Island, roughly a 40 minute drive north of Nanaimo and about 2.5 to 3 hours from the Victoria area via Highway 19, where a passenger foot-ferry connects to Lasqueti Island and private boats or kayaks launch for the short crossing to the park. From the mainland, allow a BC Ferries sailing from Horseshoe Bay or Tsawwassen to Vancouver Island before the drive north; watch for length and height limits on ferries, steep grades on the Malahat, and narrow rural approaches to French Creek harbour. The nearest airports for fly-and-rent trips are Nanaimo (YCD) and Comox (YQQ), both within easy driving distance of the launch points.
