How to get to Kootenay National Park

Calgary Airport, 267 kilometers away, is the nearest major gateway (approximately 3.5 hours drive), with Vancouver (700+ km) and Cranbrook Regional Airport (90 minutes south) as alternatives. Access the park via Highway 93, which connects to Highway 1 near Canmore and leads to Radium Hot Springs at the park's south entrance. The Banff-Windermere Parkway runs through the entire park as a paved route with 93 curves over two mountain passes; this terrain is challenging for RVs longer than 35 feet. Winter and early spring require checking road conditions before travel, as sections may close during heavy snow, particularly over the mountain passes.
