Late June through early September is the prime window for RV travel, offering warm days, open roads, and full campground services. The park sees high use during the summer season, so midweek stays or shoulder-season trips in late May and September can mean quieter sites and cooler temperatures. During the winter the area is used for cross-country skiing with no vehicle access, so RV camping is not available outside the operating season.

Lac Le Jeune is a provincially significant rainbow trout fishery accessible right from the campground. A 76 metre long fishing wharf is located in front of the day-use area, making shore and boat angling easy for RV visitors. A BC freshwater fishing licence is required. bcparks.ca/lac-le-jeune-park/
The calm waters of Lac Le Jeune are well suited to paddling. Canoeing and kayaking opportunities are available in this park, with a lakeshore launch close to the day-use parking area. Early mornings offer the best conditions before afternoon winds pick up. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclejeune/index.html
The lakeside day-use area is a relaxed spot for picnics and a swim. The day-use is a large grassy area near the shore of the lake, with large fir trees shading some of the tables and a parking lot adjacent to the day-use. There are 34 picnic tables for visitors. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclejeune/index.html
Lac Le Jeune offers forested trails suited to casual hiking and mountain biking. The park offers an assortment of recreational activities including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, biking, and nature appreciation. Trails wind through lodgepole pine forest and along the lakeshore. bcparks.ca/lac-le-jeune-park/
The park is a productive spot for spotting wildlife without leaving the campground. The park provides habitat for moose, mule deer, beaver, osprey, song birds and waterfowl. A marsh on the east side of the lake is protected and is a good place for quiet observation. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/laclejeune/index.html
The campground is a convenient base for exploring nearby lakes. The campground serves as a base for recreational use at both Stake and Walloper Lakes. These nearby lakes add fishing, paddling, and trail options to a single RV stay. bcparks.ca/lac-le-jeune-park/
In snow season the area transforms into a Nordic skiing destination. The park is used for informal cross-country skiing in the winter and connects to the Stake Lake Ski Trail system. Note that vehicle access to the campground is not available in winter. bcparks.ca/lac-le-jeune-park/

This is our 3rd year in a row, renting from Steve now, and as per usual, the experience was fantastic! If you are aren't sure, I can tell you that you don't need to worry, Steve is definitely your guy. We will rent from him as long as he is renting his trailer out on this platform. See you again next year, Steve! ☺️

Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is reached via the Lac Le Jeune Exit off Hwy 5 (the Coquihalla), 37 km south of Kamloops and 47 km north of Merritt, with 26 km of paved access also available off Hwy 1 at Kamloops. Kamloops is the closest major city and has Kamloops Airport (YKA) for fly-and-rent travelers, while Vancouver lies roughly four hours southwest via the Coquihalla. RV drivers should be prepared for steep grades and mountain pass conditions on Hwy 5, where winter snow, summer thunderstorms, and strong crosswinds are common. Check tire chain requirements and carry extra fuel, as services are limited between interchanges.
