The shoreline boardwalk is a flat, accessible path that runs along the beach with views of McNabs Island and Halifax Harbour. It is suitable for all ages and connects to the neighbouring Fisherman's Cove waterfront.
The sandy and cobble beach offers easy beachcombing, tidepool exploration, and birdwatching. Visitors often see shorebirds, gulls, and working fishing vessels passing in the channel.
Fisherman's Cove is a restored 200-year-old fishing village next to the park with shops, seafood restaurants, and a visitor centre. It is a short walk from the day-use parking area.
Seasonal passenger ferries from Fisherman's Cove run to McNabs Island Provincial Park, a large harbour island with historic forts and hiking trails. Tours operate in summer and early fall.
Picnic tables near the beach provide a scenic spot to watch ships enter and leave Halifax Harbour. The site is popular for families and casual lunch stops.
Point Pleasant Park, across the harbour in south-end Halifax, offers extensive walking trails, historic fortifications, and ocean views. It pairs well with a visit to MacCormacks Beach for a full day of coastal sightseeing.
Rainbow Haven Beach is a larger supervised beach park about 15 minutes east of MacCormacks Beach with a longer sandy shoreline and a boardwalk. It is a good complementary stop for RV travellers exploring the Eastern Shore.
Such a great experience!! The van is equipped with everything you need for an awesome adventure. It’s the perfect space for a couple, especially if you’re planning on bouncing between campgrounds like we did! Bring some dvds with you for a cozy movie night :)

A sweet and simple dry rig! More than ample solar power meant we were able to keep the RV fridge and over-the-bed fan running and our devices fully charged. Because it doesn't carry water storage tanks the rig remains light which helps on fuel! If you are looking for a glamping experience, this is not for you, but if you love the convenience and comfort of an RV coupled with traditional camping favourites like cooking on the tailgate on a propane stove, you will adore this van! The van is super easy to drive unlike larger rigs. The van is well-designed and thoughtfully equipped, with ample storage for your personal belongings. Dean and his wife are wonderful and helpful hosts.

Caroline and her husband were wonderful hosts! They took the time to get us up to speed on their van, and point out what we needed to know. The van came well equipped with stove, camping chairs and even an awning! We great enjoyed our trip in their van!

MacCormacks Beach Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park is located in Eastern Passage, about a 20 to 30 minute drive southeast of downtown Halifax via Highway 111 and Cow Bay Road, roughly 15 km. From Dartmouth, the drive is about 15 minutes. RV drivers should be aware that the access road through Fisherman's Cove is narrow with tight turns and limited parking, so larger Class A motorhomes and long fifth wheels may find manoeuvring difficult; a tow vehicle or smaller RV is recommended. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), about 40 km north of the park.
