Spring (March through May) and fall (September through November) are the best months for RV travel, offering mild temperatures, lower humidity, and active wildlife viewing along Crowley's Ridge. Summer brings warm, humid weather ideal for swimming at Bear Creek Lake but also peak mosquito activity and occasional heavy thunderstorms. Mississippi River State Park, AR, United States
The park is near Marianna, Arkansas, roughly 75 miles east of Little Rock (about 90 minutes) via I-40 and US-79, and about 65 miles southwest of Memphis, Tennessee (about 75 minutes) via I-40 and US-79. Memphis International Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers. Access roads along Crowley's Ridge include some narrow, winding, and hilly forest routes, so larger rigs should plan routes carefully and watch for low-clearance bridges and soft shoulders after heavy rain. No major mountain passes or tunnels affect access.
