Late spring through early fall, roughly April to October, offers the warmest weather and full access to swimming, boating, and golf. Summer (June to August) is peak season with hot, humid days and busy weekends on the lake, so reservations are advised. Fall (October to early November) brings cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and foliage along the Tennessee River, making it an ideal shoulder season for RV travel. Winters (December to February) are mild but damp, with reduced campground activity and limited marina services.

Pickwick Lake is the centerpiece of the park and a renowned fishery for smallmouth bass, catfish, and crappie. The park marina provides boat ramps, slip rental, and access to the Tennessee River, with nearby parking for tow vehicles and trailers.
The park includes an 18-hole championship golf course open to the public with a pro shop and practice facilities. Paved parking near the clubhouse accommodates vehicles but is tight for large rigs.
A sand swimming beach on Pickwick Lake offers a family-friendly day-use area with picnic tables and restrooms. Beach parking is open to day visitors and is easiest for smaller vehicles.
Short nature trails wind through hardwood forest and along the lakeshore, giving campers easy walking access from the campground. Trails are generally flat and well-suited for casual hikers and families.
Shiloh National Military Park, one of the most significant Civil War battlefields, is a short drive from Pickwick Landing. The site preserves battlefields of a major struggle in the Western Theater of the Civil War, with substantial casualties across the Shiloh and Corinth battlefields. nps.gov/shil/index.htm
The TVA-built Pickwick Landing Dam is visible from overlooks near the park, with interpretive signage about hydroelectric power on the Tennessee River. Pullouts offer short stops for photos and a quick leg stretch.
Picnic areas and reservable pavilions are scattered throughout the park near the lakeshore. Many sites have paved access and nearby parking suited to RV day-trippers.

Pickwick Landing State Park, TN, United States
The park lies in southwestern Tennessee near Counce and Savannah, about 2 hours east of Memphis and roughly 2.5 hours southwest of Nashville via Interstate 40 and US-64. From Huntsville, Alabama the drive is about 2 hours north on US-72 and TN-57. RV drivers should note narrow two-lane highways in the final approach, low-clearance bridges on some back roads, and the long two-lane causeway across Pickwick Dam, where wind and traffic can make handling larger rigs more challenging. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Memphis International (MEM) and Nashville International (BNA), with regional service at Muscle Shoals (MSL) in Alabama.
