Best time to visit Queensland Beach Provincial Park

July and August are the best months to visit, with warm air temperatures, the warmest bay water of the year, and lifeguard supervision during the peak summer window. Late June and early September offer quieter parking and pleasant beach weather, ideal for RVers wanting to avoid midday crowds. Spring and fall visits are possible for walking and beachcombing, but the water is cold and services are limited. Winter visits are weather dependent and the beach is unsupervised with no facilities open.

Camper van was absolutely amazing. Comfortable bed, tons of light, fridge, water and everything you could possibly need! Gas wasn’t much more than an suv would be. Dean is a fantastic guy and made we knew everything about the van before heading out and was great dealing with little hiccups along the way. Would recommend this way of travel (and renting through Dean) to anyone!

Caroline and her husband were wonderful hosts! They took the time to get us up to speed on their van, and point out what we needed to know. The van came well equipped with stove, camping chairs and even an awning! We great enjoyed our trip in their van!

Katy C. - Jun 2026

How to get to Queensland Beach Provincial Park

The park sits directly on Nova Scotia Highway 3 (St. Margarets Bay Road), roughly 45 minutes (about 55 km) southwest of downtown Halifax and about 10 minutes northeast of Hubbards. From Highway 103, take the Hubbards exit and follow Highway 3 east to the signed beach parking area. The route has no tunnels or major mountain grades, but the access is a roadside lot directly off a provincial highway, so larger Class A and fifth-wheel rigs should approach slowly and scout parking before turning in. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), about an hour's drive east.
