Late spring through early fall is generally the most popular window, when the pool, boat dock, and full campground services are active and the hardwood forest is lush. April and May bring mild temperatures and wildflowers, while October offers vivid fall color on the Eastern Highland Rim with cooler nights and thinner crowds. Summer weekends can fill quickly, so midweek stays are easier for RV travelers. Winter visits are quiet and scenic but expect limited services and cold, sometimes icy mornings.

Standing Stone offers a network of wooded day-use trails winding through deeply dissected terrain of the Eastern Highland Rim. Routes pass sandstone outcrops, small streams, and CCC-era stonework, with trailheads accessible from the main park road.
Standing Stone Lake is a small, quiet reservoir stocked for bass, bluegill, catfish, and crappie. The lake is no-wake and suited to small boats, kayaks, and shoreline fishing.
The park operates a boat dock on Standing Stone Lake during the warm season with seasonal rentals. Calm water and wooded shoreline make it a family-friendly paddling spot.
A seasonal swimming pool operates near the main recreation area during summer. It is a popular cool-down for campers and day-use visitors.
Standing Stone was developed as a recreation demonstration area and shaped by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Visitors can see the stone dam, rustic lodge, cabins, and other CCC features throughout the park.
Several picnic areas with tables, grills, and pavilions are spread across the park. Large paved lots accommodate RVs for daytime stops.
The park maintains tennis courts and recreational field games near the main developed area. These low-key amenities are a draw for longer RV stays with families.
Rayn was an absolute pleasure to work with. This was my 1st ever experience using any type of service like this for an RV, and I will definitely do it again. She was extremely responsive, accommodating, and super friendly and nice. Many, many thanks to Rayn and her husband for making this an exceptional experience.

Standing Stone State Park, TN, United States
The park lies in north-central Tennessee near Hilham, about 15 miles north of Livingston and roughly 25 miles from Cookeville, which sits on Interstate 40. From Nashville it is about a 2 hour drive east, and from Knoxville about 2.5 hours west. Access is via state highways and rural county roads with some steep, winding grades through the Highland Rim, so RV drivers should take final approaches slowly and watch for narrow shoulders and low-clearance tree canopy. Nashville International Airport (BNA) is the most practical fly-and-rent option.
