Late spring through early fall, roughly May through September, is the prime window for RV travel, with warm desert sun, full access to Park Lake's boat launch, and open visitor center hours. July and August deliver the hottest, driest weather and the busiest campground, so reservations fill quickly. Shoulder months like May, June, and September offer cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and easier site availability. Winter trips are possible but services are limited and overnight temperatures often drop below freezing.

The Dry Falls Visitor Center is the park's interpretive hub, perched on the canyon rim above the cliff. Interpretive displays tell the story of the Ice Age Floods and their effects on Washington's landscape. Large paved parking accommodates RVs and tow vehicles for a quick stop on Highway 17. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
Park Lake is the park's main recreation hub for motorized boating, swimming, and paddling. It offers a boat launch and a social atmosphere right at the heart of the park. The day-use area near the launch has space for trucks and trailers. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
Deep Lake offers a quieter, more remote on-water experience inside the park. It presents a remote paddling and kayaking experience. A gravel access road leads to a small launch suited to canoes, kayaks, and small trailered boats. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
Dry Falls Lake is a selective-gear trout fishery tucked beneath the cliff. The lure of Dry Falls Lake entices anglers to cast out for trout. A Washington fishing license is required and access is via a graded gravel road into the coulee. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
Hiking is one of the park's signature activities across the basalt benches and lake basins. Trails wind through the scented, sage-dotted hills to table-top cliffs with panoramic views. Trailheads near Park Lake have room for tow vehicles, though large motorhomes should park in the day-use lot. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
The park is one of the few state parks in Washington with on-site golf. It offers nine-hole and miniature golf for visitors who equate a desert vacation with a good game on the green. Parking near the course accommodates standard tow vehicles. nps.gov/places/sun-lakes-dry-falls-state-park.htm
Just south of the park along Highway 17, Lake Lenore Caves offer a short hike to shelters used by Ice Age peoples. The pullout has a paved lot suitable for trucks and smaller RVs. The trail climbs a basalt slope to several overhang caves with valley views. parks.wa.gov

Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park, WA, United States
The park entrance is on Highway 17 North near Coulee City, Washington. Spokane is about 100 miles east, roughly a 2 hour drive, and Seattle sits about 230 miles west via I-90 and Highway 17, typically 3.5 to 4.5 hours depending on Snoqualmie Pass conditions. RV drivers crossing the Cascades on I-90 should be prepared for steep mountain grades, chain-up areas in winter, and high winds through the Columbia Basin near Vantage and George. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Spokane International Airport (GEG), with Wenatchee's Pangborn Memorial as a smaller alternative.
