Sun Lakes-Dry Falls State Park is a spectacular destination in central Washington's high desert, located between Soap Lake and Coulee City. This sprawling 4,000-acre park showcases dramatic landscapes shaped by ancient Ice Age floods, featuring deep basalt gorges, three pristine lakes (Park Lake, Deep Lake, and Dry Falls Lake), and breathtaking scenic vistas across the Columbia Plateau.
The park offers exceptional water recreation including boating from two launches and fishing for trout, complemented by hiking trails that wind through sage-scented hills with panoramic cliff views. Land-based activities include an 18-hole mini golf course and the Vic Meyers nine-hole golf course with desert vistas.
Comprehensive camping facilities accommodate both standard and full-hookup RVs with 96 and 41 sites respectively, featuring pull-through sites, 30-amp electrical hookups, water and sewer connections, and full amenities including showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station. The Dry Falls Visitor Center provides educational insight into the region's Ice Age geology, while the on-site concession offers dining options. Picnic areas, playgrounds, fire pits, and accessible facilities ensure memorable visits for all guests. Wind advisory: adequate gear recommended for this high-desert location.
